10-Minute Valentines Candies
I was trying to look for a quick little recipe to make for the valentine's party my daughter's class is having. I was interested in this but trying to find a recipe with the ingredients I have on hand. I don't have white chocolate so is there a way I could use maybe kitkats melted down or butterfingers * I bought a big package of both for her vday party and wanted to use it in the recipe if I could * would it work with the shortening? Or if not what could?. Thanks.

You couldn't melt down Kit-Kats because they have wafers in the middle. I don't know if you could melt Butterfingers, but they wouldn't behave the same way as chocolate would.

KitKats have cookies inside, so they wouldn't melt down. Butterfingers have a hard filling that probably won't melt at the same temperature as the chocolate covering it. Red food coloring isn't going to show up well against brown chocolate, either. I bet the kids would be just as happy with the candy bars, you could maybe decorate the wrappers or attach a little homemade card with the child's name or something like that to dress them up.

Hopefully some of these might work for you, if not for the V-Day party, then for some other occasion.
