I only know that it cannot be just a "comment". There has to be an actual review and rating. Someone pointed out to me (thru a PM) one particular recipe that you know could not be a true rating... the reviewer claiming to have made the dish for 4 different occasions (in a span of 2 days from the chefs post to the review). But I think the judges will look for things like that. I believe they will make it as fair as possible. You may want to contact the hosts for further explanation of how they choose the winner.
I wish you (and everyone) luck in the contest.

(On a personal note... I never expect to win anything. I just find it fun to play along and meet new friends).

Thanks Rosie! I haven't entered yet but my daughter has. It was a little confusing reading all the reviews etc. figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

If I may?
I think that food.com is trying their best to crack down on people cheating. Shame on those that do. I wish food.com the best on figuring out what the solution is. Zaar/Food.com has always been the best recipe website ever out there. It has always been about honesty, fairness, family, friends and of course recipes from people who truly enjoy food and want to share. I hope that they find a way to keep the integrity of this site in tact, continue to be the honorable site that they have always been, and not let their reputation be ruined. I have faith that this whole new matter will be solved and taken care of so that it will still be a wonderful place for all to enjoy.
*And I agree, Rosie! Contests should be about having FUN. Expanding your mind and stepping out of your comfort zone to create new recipes that you are proud of, confident to make for your family and happy to share. And if they peak another's curiosity enough that someone makes it, it should be a huge compliment in itself. It should never be about perusing the internet to make a buck and have your "friends" cast "votes". How sad. I do hope things get worked out. Until they do though, don't be discouraged, continue to contribute honestly, and have fun. As that is what it should all be about.
Good luck to all.

I'm not going to discuss specific recipe reviews, but this topic is covered in the official contest rules. Winning recipes are evaluated to make sure they conform to the contest rules. From the contest rules page:
Entrants are prohibited from obtaining votes by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, including, without limitation, offering prizes or other inducements to members of the public, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

Sorry, Kathy. I'm seeing what's going on with the latest contests. As I said, I'm sure Food.com will, as always, make sure that the contests are not being manipulated and all will be fair as always. Please don't take anything I've said wrongly. I only have the best interest in this site and want to see it continue as it should and always has been.

I just don't want to have the public making decisions on what's an appropriate review. Be assured that we're not blind to people who try to manipulate the contest rules.

I am getting calls and emails from people who say they are unable to review my recipe. I went there and I am not able to access my reviews. Must be a glitch. Please inform. Thanks.

When will the winners be announced? (In the thread I think it said the 3rd, but on the actual contest page it says the 10th.) I'm thinking the 10th probably? Thanks!!

Our guest judge is vetting and testing the recipes to choose our winners now. It'll likely be more like April 10th for the winner announcement.
Stay tuned!
