Check out the new digs!
Hi Everyone,
The Community Cafe has been a very pleasant place to visit for quite awhile now. Kudos to everyone that's made it a pleasant place to visit! There's been an idea percolating for a few months that the Community Cafe should not be so well hidden you need to follow a breadcrumb trail to find it. It's a great idea, and we feel the time has come to transition the Community Cafe to an easier to find place in the Non-Cooking section of the forums.
Because of the special nature of the Community Cafe and how it was set up a few years ago, we can't simply transfer the entire forum to it's new home. It disappeared when we tried that, and we're pretty sure you don't want the Community Cafe to be invisible.
That means we need to start a new Community Cafe forum for you. It's not possible to transfer all the topics to the new CC, but we want to make sure your new home isn't empty when you move in. We plan to move the topics on Page 1 to the new forum. Plus, if there are any older threads that you would like to have moved, please post a link to those topics here.
Target Move Date: February 1st
What will happen on February 1st?
1. New Community Cafe forum will open in Other Than Cooking section of the forums.
2. Existing Community Cafe will be renamed: Community Cafe-Archives and will stay in its current location.
3. Other section of the forums will be renamed: Archives.
4. Topics on page 1 of the Community Cafe-Archives will be moved to new Community Cafe.
4. Community Cafe-Archives will be locked shortly after the new Community Cafe opens. That means you won't be able to post in the old forum. Existing topics will remain. Nothing will be deleted and you will be able to view the archive forum.
5. The Community Cafe will continue to be accessible in the "Go To Forum" drop down list.
Start packing your bags, February 1 will be here quickly!
