Mia, I have a friend who lives in Spain and I asked her about the poisoned fields. She said she had never heard about it. Why are they poisoned?

Indeed, can you imaging trying to host and track the same event in two places?

I suspect that the Spanish have no clue about it because they get different stuff - the poisoned fruits and vegetables maybe are just for export. But it's not only the poison, actually, but also because the way they grow the vegetables for exporting to Northern Europe is an ecological desaster.

Definitely!
This is about growing tomatoes in Spain - you won't understand it maybe, but wait the first 30 seconds until the introduction is over, they show the largest tomato plantation in Almeria.

It's all in German but I understand all of those skull and cross bone marked bottles in the greenhouse.

As you all know we start playing on Feb 1.
The official start time will be 8:00am (Food time)
We will not be tagging each other but recipes from the cookbooks that are now on pg 1 of this thread (they will be moved along with us to the Main Thread) or recipes that you have found here on food that qualify in the Vegetarian category and Vegetarian NA/ME cateory.
Each tag must have 2 recipes, 1 from each cuisine to be valid. Loula's Vegetarian book does contain na/me recipes so if you find one in there that you like go ahead and tag it from that book. What matters is that you have 1 recipe (or 2, 4, 6 ) from each qualifying cuisine, not where you found it.
Teaser: We will also be having two optional but fun things for you to do:
1. Prime Ingredient Challenge
2. Bonus Treasure Hunt
All will be revealed in the main thread.
You mean we have to make 1 tag from each category each time?
Good morning!
More accurately, 1 tag from each cookbook each time. All tags must be vegetarian. There are NA/ME recipes in the Vegetarian cb that qualify.
So wait we can only tag recipes already in the cookbooks? Not any that fit the categories on F.?

from the intro on p.1: To make this event easier for everyone, we have created two major cookbooks, one representing each forum that you can choose your tags from. You may also find recipe choices from outside of the cookbooks, if you prefer.

Hey I'm a fool lol.
I was kind of asking because DH is mainly stuck on Middle Eastern type food so I thought I could tag two each time!!

LOL
I'm here, you're not alone - you were just quicker
I had similar thoughts because I'm so fond of Middle Eastern food, but I found quite some other recipes in the other veggie cookbooks that make a nice match with Middle Eastern side or main dishes.
