 Good morning!
I've been a busy bee sampling contest recipes and still have more in the plans. There's never enough time to get as many made though as catch my eye.
 Look. Ketchup jewelry.

uhhh.... Miss Kato...........
I hate to bring this up, but your ketchup may be a little funky & not in a good way. Ketchup normally isn't a "bubbly" product.
I'd probably toss the dregs of that bottle and open a fresh one.

What about something for one’s and two’s?
What I am thinking is as the kids go to college we want to arm them with one or two recipes that are easy and will feed just one or two. The other side of that coin is that with the kids away mom and dad are now looking for new meals to feed just the two of them.
You know as we start out we need recipes for one & two and after a certain age we go back to needing recipes for just one & two once again

Contest Suggestions Please!
We'd like your ideas for our community contests. Consider this a brainstorming session. Let's keep all comments positive and let the ideas flow. No idea is too wild at this point. We can narrow it down to the best suggestions later.
We've offered three community contests in the past.
1. RSC, as we all know "grew up" and is now a sponsored contest. RSC was our general contest. We have the opportunity to replace it with something new. What sounds fun? What would you call it?
2. Dining on a Dollar features a must use ingredient and tries to be budget friendly. Most of the ingredients on the contest list are also pantry staples. Past must use ingredients have been: ramen noodles, cans of beans, zuchinni, & now ketchup. What would make a good "must use" ingredient.
3. Category Craze-E challenges us to create recipes within an assigned category. Past categories have included: crockpot, soup & sandwiches, salads, party food, and gifts from your kitchen. What categories would you like to see in a contest?
4. Other suggestions?

RSC
Everydays a Holiday!
How about creating recipes with a theme?
Like St Patricks day using beer or cabbage as a key ingredient.
Easter using eggs or lamb as a key ingredient.
July 4th Grilling recipes....
Lazy day recipes no cooking recipes
Of course using the key 4-5 ingredients
Dining on a dollar
must use ingredients pasta, bread, eggs, milk, butter, crackers, cereal, vinegar, canned tuna, sardines, evaporated milk, rice, barley, dried peas, hot sauce, oatmeal, tomato paste, stock,/broth, jam/jellys, spices, honey/molasses/sugar, tea, popcorn, dried fruit like raisins, prunes, spricots....,
Assigned category
I would love to see outdoor cooking be it on the grill or smoking it over a campfire.
Vegetarian would be an easy one.
Low calorie would be a nice change.

I like the name Pantry Raiders..... imagine the fun you could get into.
Raiding someones pantry..... yummm Choosing items randomly and creating a recipe for a category to be determined by someone else ... with a surprise ingredient...to be used in each and every recipe submitted.
Must have been a pirate at some time....

Okay... I'm not sure if you want suggestions for food items for the previous mentioned contests... or if you want a "NEW CONTEST" name and category.
If looking for suggestions for "RSC"... go with EASTER!
I'm thinking along the same lines as Rita... Easter is coming up soon. Maybe try and get a sponsor like "Egg Lands Best", and the mandatory ingredient would be "HARD BOILED" eggs, and see what people can come up with (besides Deviled Eggs and Potato Salad).
Or... contact "Cooks" ham people as a sponsor. Then everyone could vary their own version of the best "LEFT OVER" ham concoction to serve the next couple of days.
Left over hard boiled eggs and left over ham... take your pick.
LOL .
If "Dining on a Dollar" suggestions are wanted... just see the "egg" notes above (HARD BOILED). We all have them at Easter!!!
"Assigned Category"... (same thing)...
Now if your looking for a totally "NEW CONTEST":...
I love the idea of Baby Kato's... "Raiding Your Neighbors Pantry"... unfortunately, my next door neighbor is a bachelor, which would make it impossible for me to raid (he has NOTHING), and the friends across the street are never home!
My suggestion for a "NEW CONTEST" would be called "COOK YOUR COCKTAIL" (or something along those lines). Meaning you transform a cocktail into a food of some sort. Just a suggestion.
