    Use for Crunchy Granola bars

    Newbie "Fry Cook" Poster
    I am looking for recipes that use Crunchy Granola bars in the ingredients. I have found tons of Granola bar recipes but I found a sealed box of Oats N Honey crunchy granola bars and they hurt my teeth. So, I have been looking for a recipe that uses them and have had no luck. Thank you in advance.

    Maybe you could use them as a topping for something?

    I have to say, though, that if you don't like them as is, you probably won't like them as an ingredient, either.

    I agree with Chocolati, but if you want to use them I would crumble then up add some cinnamon, a little melted butter and use them as a topping for an apple pie, make apple crisp!

    I agree with you, Elly. That seems a very good idea to use those crunchy granola bars.

    I LOVE them, they are just too hard. I did find a pie recipe and can work with that. I don't make many desserts as I am hypoglycemic and hubby is borderline diabetic. We have so far kept ourselves from going on medication by controlling our diets by using honey. My blood sugar is too low, his is too high, why do I feel like Jack Sprat and his wife, except neither one of us should eat processed sugar. icon_smile.gif

    Like this idea, there is already enough sweet in the granola and by adding cinnamon it's adding another level of taste goodness and health. Thank you. OMG, I just thought, how good would this be on Sweet Potatoes!

    I know what you mean about them hurting your teeth - I often crumble them up and stir into yogurt to make them softer to eat or make fruit/granola/yogurt parfaits

    soften then into processor for a crust.. side of a cake? for a pie........

    crush as above and into.. yogurt.. cottage cheese.. add to ricotta cheese and add into blintzes!
