Sorry about your anniversary, Rosie. Just read above. DANG snow!! We were just without power the other night, too. Got to watch a transformer engulfed in massive flames, pole and all, bright flashing lights from emergency vehicles all night, and no power til 4am. (*Was when the storm came through with HIGH winds! 60+mph winds and a tree fell on the transformer.) Anyways, we made the best of it! icon_smile.gif Slept in the front room guest bedroom so we could keep an eye on all the excitment and then snuggled in the small bed and watched a movie (The Hunger Games) on my hubby's ipad thingie. (No power required.) We actually loved it! icon_biggrin.gif It is what it is!! icon_biggrin.gif Just gotta make the best of it sometimes! icon_wink.gif icon_smile.gif

Sounds like a really romantic night. Wish I could be that lucky. My hubby just gripes because of no tv. LOL.

I will give them the website & name of your dish, but to be perfectly honest, I don't even think my friends will bother rating with anything that I enter either. (And they call themselves "friends"!) LOL. Good luck, hun!

P.S... You wouldn't happen to know how to directly text to one of the "elves" (as Wildflour calls them), would you? I have technical problems regarding the contest & do not want to fill this thread with all of it.

I'm heading out with your salad Rita... I'll let you know the "final score" from my friends (although I will only use my opinion for rating... still nervous about the corn). LOL! Oh yea... I found that you are on "D for a D" contest too. (I haven't posted anything there yet either... dang computers)!

    P.S... I'm predicting 49ers win by a 7 point spread... LOL icon_biggrin.gif

Thank you Rita. I will contact an "elf" tomorrow. Its almost 1 a.m. here, so I'm heading to bed. Hubby is leaving to plow again in 3 hrs (another blast of winter). The "Stupid Bowl" was just that... "STUPID"!!! (So many bad plays, calls, malfunctions, etc...) Beyonce was very good. I was suprised at the men at the party (bashing her clothing, but my hubby smiled all along). The "49-'nerds'" would have probably won, if they hadn't attempted the 2 pointer with under 5 mins left to the game. Idiots! Anyways, I still have the"Black Hawks" & "White Sox" to root for this year until the "Bears" come back next fall with a new coach!

P.S... EVERYONE at the party loved the salad, Rita (and I left out the celery because I just don't like it). I'll tell you, straight up, I'm gonna vote a 5 star tomorrow, dear. Read my comments after I post. (Too many flippin' cocktails tonight)! Goodnight from Chicago (okay, the far NW suburbs)!!! LOL!

Thank you, Rosie!!! Will do!! icon_biggrin.gif Hope you had a nice anniversary!

    To the elves:
You typed in my recipe incorrectly. I submitted it very carefully, even counted all the letters and spaces to make sure it was 64 characters or less. It is to be:

Ranch Steakhouse Nachos wBacon, Blue Cheese & Shallot Rings #RSC

Can you please correct? It looks kinda stupid the way it is! LOL!!

    Thank you! icon_biggrin.gif

Just bumping this up before it gets buried. I really need someone to get this corrected. Thanks!! icon_smile.gif

LOL Wildflour. I went to the recipe page... I see what you mean about the title. Ya know... if they added in the letter "i", it would be "nacho-ism" (Kinda sexy if ya think about it)! LMAO!

Anyway, your appy sounds delicious, although, if I get to attempt it soon, I will not put the blue cheese on a few for myself (just don't like mold). I'm thinking "horseradish!!! YUM! Good luck dear.

Thanks, Rosie! And it's ok! LOL! My hubby isn't a blue cheese lover, either. You can leave that off or use your own favorite cheese if you like. (Sharp or white cheddar, swiss, parmesan, asiago, gouda, muenster, havarti...anything sound ok?) *Leftover steak and mashed potatoes can be used too, for a quickie version.

P.S. Wildflour, ask Rita to send you a PM with an "elf's" address. She sent one to me, although I haven't used it yet. I don't know how to do all the "cut, copy & paste" crappola on this stupid smart phone. (I WANT MY COMPUTER BACK!!!) LOL.
