Welcome to the Alphabet Soup game!
Anyone can play and you can jump in at any time - newbies are always welcome too.
Just jump to the last message of the thread to find out where we are in the game and join in.
HOW TO PLAY:
The concept is to sample the recipes of all Food.com (Zaar) members by going through the member names alphabetically. You find out which letter we are on, select a chef whose member name begins with that letter, then select any recipe from that chef's list (reviewed or not) to make. Once you have made the recipe (within two weeks) report back to this thread that you have made the recipe and also post a review the usual way. Once Chef A is picked, then we move onto Chef B, then Chef C, etc.
Short Version:
1) Find out what letter we're on
2) Pick a chef that's name starts with that letter
3) Pick a recipe from that chef to make
4) Post a message in this thread claiming that chef, with the recipe name
and recipe number.
5) Make the recipe in 2 weeks and report back here after writing your review.
The 2 week goal for making the recipes is ONLY a guideline. If, for some reason, you can not meet it, that's no problem. The purpose of the game is to have fun, not to increase stress.
No apology is needed for being late. However, people who habitually reneg on their tags may be asked either to complete them or abandon them before playing again.
To find the list of chefs in ABC order: Go to the
A-Z Directory which can also be found under the Community tab at the top of any page. Edit: A-Z Directory is currently down, but you can find chefs with this link:
Members with Recipes.
We will include the chefs whose names begin with a number too - that will count after "XYZ". So, we begin with A thru XYZ, then 123/symbols, then back to A.
Some letters will be tough to pick from, like Q, U, XYZ, and 123/symbols, as not as many chef's names begin with these. If you find we've been stuck on a letter for a few days, feel free to jump to the next.
You can play as many times as you like, just as long as you really will be able to make all of the recipes you select.
