My swap partner Paula, sent me a lovely selection of spices, including some that she made. I will use everyone of them. There's an Indian spice that I never used: charnushka; which I just learned by reading the label, that it's known as nigella, and that was the spice I suggested to Paula. What a surprise. I can't wait to try this. And two beautifully crocheted dish cloths (I thanked Paula for the lovely hot pads... duh). icon_redface.gif

Paula thanks once again for your generous swap gift!

Nigella is also known as 'kalonji'. I use it every so often:

I received a package. It is great...lots of wonderful spices and spice blends as well as some waters. Everything came from Savory Spice Shop. This is what I received:
    Rose water
Orange water (can't wait to put that in some tea)
    Chiles Chimayo Powder Hot
    Celery seeds
Colorado Plateau Citrus Pepper (I sprinkled a bit of this on some burgers on the grill tonight...good stuff!)
Herbes de Provence (a blend of French herbs)
    Italian Herbs
    Napa Valley Pickling Spice Rub
These spices smell so good! They had my kitchen smelling like a spice shop. icon_smile.gif I put them in mason jars and sealed them.
I have notified my swap partner that I received my package.
If I can figure out how to get a picture on here, I'll post it. For now, I think I'll make some tea. icon_biggrin.gif

If you need help and guidance with the rose water or orange blossom water you can visit us in the NA*ME forum. Those two products are also used in traditional English recipes.

I *love* rose water and orange blossom water!

I'd love some guidance, thanks! I must be overlooking something...I can't find that forum. Is there perhaps another name I could be overlooking?

I can't get in touch with my swap partner through zmail. Delivery confirmation on the package I sent her shows it was delivered on Jan. 29th. I'm wondering...
