So here is my package! Which contained: (from left to right)
Dal Makhani Mix, which is indian black lentil spice mix.
Spice mix for Egg Masala
Loomi, dry limes used in NAME cooking.
Garam Masala
Turmeric Powder
Moghrabieh Spices.
Panchforan.
Whole Nutmeg
Curry Leaf powder
Za'atar
Grounded fennugreek.

Looks like a great package. I received Za'atar last year from Evelyn and have used it occasionally on chicken. I found the recipe below recently and have put in on my list to try

I still have a second package to go out but its something I had ordered and its taken a little longer to get it. But the lady just called and said it should be ready to pick up on Tuesday. And of course I found more items to send her....thanks for hosting thise swap

I went to track the package that I sent Sue Lau and all I get is can't be found. Calling the post office why did I pay for tracking and nothing!! Hope to get some anwers today.

I have received the one package and it is enough to call our swap complete. I was just waiting on the other one before I posted a photo.

MY BOX ARRIVED!! Several days ago but I haven't gotten here to update.

Thank you, Maya's Mama!! It is absolutely fantastic ~ even dh who scowls at everything was drooling! I have used the Egyptian Spice mix but couldn't find the recipe here?? I did take a few photos...I will list everything & get the photos posted tomorrow afternoon. What a great swap partner you set me up with!

I have this recipe, at least - Za'atar Tomatoes. There may be more. A favorite thing to do is sprinkle (well....COAT) boneless thighs with za'atar then grill them while grilling halved lemons alongside. A HUGE hit with everyone.

Now that you mention it, I will post the recipe for the Egyptian spice mix ( I make it myself and I normally just "eye ball" the measurements.)

mistika - looks like drugs. i had to look it up. gum arabic! scary reading. edible AND used in glue & paint?? So not sure how to use it! I think there was a convo about this not too long ago somewhere...

orange ginger spice blends - a fave combo in this house!
Acid Rain anaheim chile powder. is it really that hot? psyched because it's a new pepper for me
Alberta Crude scary hot sauce. we are drooling.

Mama's *unposted* Egyptian spice blend which is fantastic! Smells very cumin-y but tastes very balanced & is yummy. I sprinkled it on pork tenderloins last week.

and a jar of piri piri which i'm excited about because I've never used it. I saw it in someone else's box & decided it was something I wanted to try, too, so YAY! Now, what do i do with it??

I love this swap. I have a friend who comes over & comments that I have spices from places she's never even heard of. It's even more exciting when the whole family gets excited - even my 12 & 16 yo girls about upcoming dinners with new spices! I'm so lucky! I'm not sure how you knew we are into different grindable salts...

My mother uses mistika in broth. Add a few crystal to a spoonful of oil/butter and it will cook out and disolve. Then add your veg/meat water to make your broth. It will add a very subtle and plesent flavour to your broth.

In greek cooking it is used in Desserts.
