Jacqueline, I bet Xander enjoys the sock monkey. I hope you find something perfect for his older sister also.

Alisa Lee, don't worry about missing Zumba. It's better to be concerned with your overall health. Once you get better, then you will find time for Zumba.

Today has been a bad day for me. I went with Tom to the VA so he could get his polyp removed. As we got off the elevator 2 other people got off also. One of them looked at me and asked if I needed a wheelchair. I denied needing one. I went to the waiting room and the normal procedure is the nurse in the recovery room calls a phone in the waiting room when a patient is ready to be picked up. This time, the nurse walked over and called my name. I went back with her and she informed me "You will be leaving here with Tom in a wheelchair. You are not breathing or walking well enough."
I thought I was having a good day. Can you believe it?

Laury, hope both you and Tom are doing better. Be glad that they paid enough attention to you to notice you were not doing well. I was at the clinic on Tuesday and noticed a lady that goes to our church was not breathing well and I walked over and talked to her for a minute, walked up to the desk and told the receptionist that she needed to be seen quickly that she was really sick. They went to get a nurse and shortly there after the lady passed out. I was glad that I had already gotten things moving a long for her. Becky and I went to see her yesterday, they put her in the hospital and she has double pneumonia, plus cancer of the lungs, so she really was not doing well.

Alisa sounds to me like you need to rest for a bit.

tasb, I hope you are doing better today. I have Andie this evening and she always cheers me up when I am a little depressed, was glad she wanted to come home with me today.

I need to do my exercise for PT again today, then I will be about ready for bed. Andie says she is staying all night but I don't believe she will.

Thank You All for your kind words, sure helped me lots.

Laury, happy to hear you are eating once again. Sorry to hear about your bad day. But thankfully the nurse was looking out for you too and realized you weren't breathing well. Get lots of rest with Tom while he recovers.

Jacqueline, I think Xander will like the sock monkey, such a classic toy isn't it. Lucky you were there for the lady from church. Hope you had so much fun with Andie, kids are so much fun. I think that is why no matter how stressed I get at work I just can't give up my job because all the kids there make me smile. I am able to push aside my depression enough when I have to deal with them. In doing that it helps ease how I feel.

Alisa Lea, good for you not going too far over your calorie limit. Take care of yourself and get as much rest as you can.

Me, well the couch was too comfy yesterday so I didn't exercise. On top of that Tuesday night was one of those nights where it doesn't feel like I slept at all. I have been in so much pain most of this week I do feel guilty for doing it. My back and ribs have been very sore and I know I have to get exercising to get those muscles stronger again so I stop hurting. Now I feel horrible for letting myself go this past year and a half. I see the scale dropping though.

Last night I slept better but was tired all day, but had enough motivation to get moving tonight. I got in a Jillian workout, 48 minutes on the elliptical and my PT exercises.

tasb, you are such an inspiration to me. I know I can get more of this weight off I just have to work at it. Hope you feel better today.

I am fixing to get ready for PT, but dread it because we have snow again this morning and school is once again closed. I drive about 30 miles to PT, so not looking forward to that, but I will get over it. They say when March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb, I so hope that is true, esp. since the last day is Easter. Love to see the kiddos in their Easter outfits and not having to worry about a coat.

Have a wonderful day everyone and Laury hope you are feeling better.

Hello friends, no baking as still on vacation with another week to go. Peru is great and have had some of the most spectacular scenery and photo opps we{ve ever seen. Just don{t get to a computer often to catch up but some great baking going on here and the photos are making me hungry.

Can not say the food here, specially the bread is great and I am looking forward to getting back to my own kitchen.

Went to Machu Pichu yesterday and it was truly amazing. Tomorrow we head back to Cusgo and then on to Lima.

Jacqueline, I am so pleased that your were aware enough to help the woman from your church. I hope you were able to go to PT. I can't tell you the number of times I remember incidents from my 2 nephews growing up which get me to stop being so sad.

tasb, you did great making yourself exercise so your body won't hurt. I know it is rough.

Bonnie, enjoy the rest of your time in Peru.

For myself, it is a quiet day. Tom isn't feeling well and neither am I. I am hoping to start exercising again tomorrow if my face isn't swollen. I see my dentist Monday and may decide to wait until I see her and she can see how I am healing.

Hi everyone! How are you doing? I go to the dentist tomorrow. Depending on what she decides we will know when I am able to start exercising and doing better with eating,

I'm still around and peeking in. The last 4 days have been insane!
We listed our house for sale on Wednesday and have had a ton of showings. The difficulty is that for each showing we need to get the dogs off the property so that people can see the yard - it's a main selling feature. So for each appt. we ask them to wait at the door, put on hats, gloves, boots and today snow pants - leash up the dogs and go for a walk. Within a couple of hours we have to do it again.

It's great that we are getting showings but totally crazymaking in terms of meals, exercise etc because in between all we do is clean. Clean and vacate. That's my week. icon_confused.gif icon_confused.gif

Still trying to do the treadmill but it isn't happening everyday. I'm certainly not overeating because there is barely time icon_lol.gif Wish me luck please!

It is sub zero with frozen slush on the sidewalks and trails. Staying upright is a major job. Darn it they get 3 walks a day anyway - with the 4 showings we had Friday they got 6 walks. I may thaw in May!

K9 Owned, hopefully your house will be sold soon so that you won't have to vacate all that often. I hope it warms up for you soon.

On the way to my dentist this morning to make sure everything is healing well and that I can start doing more. I am starting to hate just sitting while Tom has so many chores to do. I want to help but he claims my best help is sitting in my recliner and not causing problems.

I'm back from the dentist. She has suggested that I wait until my face is no longer swollen before I exercise. Right now my body is still working on healing from the surgery. She is very pleased at how I am taking care of my teeth, and denture. Tom will let me know when my face is no longer swollen.

There is so much happening here on a daily basis that just keeping myself going is hard. I have just been accepted for both Medicaid and Medicare. Medicaid is for people who have little money and medicare is for those who are elderly or disabled and have retired. It looks like they will be reimbursing us for expenses paid in December, January and February. There is a lot of paperwork to go through. I am fortunate that Tom has been saving all medical receipts.

Oh Laury, that is wonderful news about the Medicare and Medicaid.
What a relief (and sign of cleverness) that Tom saved the receipts.
Good to know the healing is progressing.

Hope everyone else is feeling stronger. Our house guests have gone home
and I have fired into action to do all those things that I put off while I was
enjoying myself (including going to the gym).

Yesterday was super busy and I feel I accomplished a lot. Didn't sleep well
last night—mind racing—but today the scale shows that I have already lost
the 2 pounds I gained while guests were here. Now to get it lower.

Thanks to you all. You are great inspiration, even when the exercise and
weight loss happen to stall. We're all in this together.

Leggy Peggy, I am sure you loved your house guests but bet you are glad it is back to normal. LOL In my house I have yet to discover what normal actually is and that is sad since I do live by myself.

Laury, I am sure that Tom will advise you when the swelling is gone and so happy you were able to get both Medicare and Medicaid. I certainly wish you would get to feeling better. Did you see over the news where there is now a test for fibromyalgia? I think that will be a big help in getting people diagnosed faster. I know I will be happy to have it and see if it is truly FMS.

Hope everyone else is doing OK. PT went really well for me today, just wish I could do more. I know, in time I will be able to.
