Laury,sorry to hear you are bruised from your dental surgery, hope you get lots of rest and recover fast. I hope you and Tom can find a few more friends though the Playhouse. I really should try to find more friends myself, but at the same time I am fine not having friends where I live. I hope clothes shopping went well for you.
Jacqueline, happy to hear you are healing faster. Soon your stabilizer should be off. Don't push yourself too hard once it does.

Alisa Lea, how are you doing? This last Friday I finally popped in to watch my girls as they did Zumbatomic. I thought it was their last class, so I wanted to see how much they liked it. Turns out they have a couple more weeks.

Me, finally got around to another workout. I did my Jillian DVD and PT exercises. Still feeling a little weak. Only my 6th workout this month. This time last month I had already hit over 1000 exercise minutes. Well not much I can do if I was too sick and too tired to do anything other than keep upright. I am going to try my best to eat salad this week. I had cut out most fresh veggies a couple months ago when I started feeling very sick after eating them. I was still eating cooked veggies and dehydrated fruits, but am starting to feel better after eating fresh, so I am going to give it a try. I am happy with myself, I was able to feel the floor under my bent knee when doing forward lunges, and I was able to 27 of them, instead of 14. I am getting better at modified pushups too. So there are positives showing up already.

tasb, I hope you feel better soon. Even though you haven't been exercising you are improving. I can understand not being able to eat raw vegetables. I go through that at times. Then I find that I like salad again.
I am still having problem with the face swelling and a lot more pain. Of course it is partly from the surgery and a lot from sinus problems. I hope I start improving soon.

Laury I am glad the swelling is going down. Any type of surgery can set you back. Be good to yourself.
Tasb - Your body knows when it needs a rest. Exercising when you are sick just makes it harder to heal. You be good to yourself too.
I envy our travelers Bonnie and Peggy. We have yet another storm expected tomorrow
And yeah, I miss Granny Moses! Her posts are so upbeat unlike the one I am about to post.

Well, I am feeling a little sulky this morning.
I have been very good with forcing myself to do the treadmill walk every day. I might have missed 2 days in 3 weeks. I am up to 45 minutes per session (one a day) at about 3.75 mph. It's enough to make me sweat and for my legs to ache. I was feeling virtuous.
Then I weighed and measured my waist this morning and I could just spit!!!!
The weight has not changed in 2 weeks and I may have lost 1/2 inch. Hard to say as I could have just been holding the tape tighter.
I confess that I have still been working through an abundance of candy and chocolate from Christmas and Valentines but I really didn't think I was scarfing it.
Anyway, one way or another I have to up the effort this week.
I'm going to up the water (why am I finding this so hard to do?) and eliminate sugar. I suspect a low carb week would make a difference but I just.can.not bring myself to give up my starches just yet. I'm hoping eliminating sugar will be good enough. I'm also going to get on that blasted machine after dinner for an additional 20 minutes.
Good to have this group here for motivation and a place to whine now and then.

Good to hear from everyone that posted, those that didn't we miss you. Tasb, I am a lot like you, I read most every day but I don't aways post.
K-9, still could be your fat/muscle shifted, some days I am smaller one place than another, the next time I measure it may be some where else.
I got my stabilizer off on Friday and it was so nice. I went to church yesterday and picked up Xander, my friends, 5 month old. I really shouldn't have done it but I didn't think. So I am paying for it now with a very sore shoulder. Other than that I am doing wonderful. I am starting to slowing add some exercise into my PT so I hope to get built up and start losing again.

Hi everyone. Last week I walked 6 out of 7 days, so that was good. And my weight is creeping down just a little at a time - but that's okay with me, at least it is going down.
Planning on continuing the trend.
Yes K9, drink plenty of water, especially exercising that much. Your body needs it.

Hey y'all. I usually read the new posts every day too, even when I don't comment. I like hearing what's going on with everybody else.
Today I have good news and bad news. After 3 Mondays of the darn scale not moving at all, this morning I was down 4 pounds! I guess it all showed up at once. But tonight I skipped Zumba because I feel like I'm coming down with bronchitis. All I want to do is climb in bed.If I don't feel better tomorrow I'll probably have to go to the doctor. <sigh>

K9Owned, I am so sorry that your effort on exercising and watching your diet has not paid off right now. If you keep doing the right things, it will show up in time. You are right in thinking additional exercise and no sugar should show up!! Thanks for reminding me that not healing fast enough to suit me doesn't mean I am doing anything wrong.

I still have not returned to exercising yet. I also am having a hard time eating. The surgeon removed roots of two teeth and one has healed and is almost painless. The other site is having problems and it is causing more sinus problems. I will start exercising again as soon as Tom says the swelling is down and I see the bruising down.
For my oral surgery he was my caretaker. This Thursday I become his caretaker for the day. He had an endoscopy a few months ago. The doctor found a polyp which they claim is almost certainly non-cancerous. This Thursday I go with him to have the polyp removed. He did great on the endoscopy so he will probably do well with this. When its all over I call my sister who comes to get us.

Me, I am doing wonderful, sick of this rain and wind we are having and hoping and praying the snow doesn't hit the southern part of KY, because I am sick of it also. Sister has an appointment tomorrow, I imagine I will go to it with her, but she hasn't asked yet.

K9, don't be too hard on yourself. It will seem to drop off all of a sudden. In Jan I worked out 30 times over the whole month and only lost a pound. I was working out for more than an hour most nights too.
Jacqueline, sorry to hear you hurt yourself, but it is soo hard to resist picking up a baby. Take care of yourself and keep up your PT workouts.

Me, I took last night off. I was seriously depressed all day. It would have been my mom's birthday yesterday, and I felt like I almost forgot about. I lost her over 23 yrs ago to cancer and with my sister's treatment still going on, I pushed everything else aside. I actually came to my room before heading to work to check her birth certificate and even took a couple minutes to read her Will, I haven't opened that in years. But I needed to see her handwriting. I spent all day seriously fighting my tears. I listened to music most of the morning, mainly sad stuff or from the 80's, stuff I would have been listening to when she was around. Then I called my sister last night just to chat, about everything, (mom, our brother, our kids, her health, my health, growing up, we were on the phone for over an hour.) I even got the chance to tell her how strong she is, her willingness to go without a wig, hat, scarf. To show off her bald head. It sure helped me.
Then today I was just emotionally worn-out. I did have to go pick up my son at Boy's Group in town, and had to go wash my SUV, but didn't get off all mud from pulling hubby's truck out of the ditch. That needs some real scrubbing. I did workout tonight. I did better than last time. I did a full workout, Jillian's 30 day shred, 33 minutes on the elliptical and PT exercises. Getting stronger.

tasb, I understand how you feel about your mother's death. My mother's birthday passed about 3 weeks ago and both my sister and I had a hard time not crying. I'm pleased that you got to talk to your sister yesterday.
Keep up the good work with exercise. Maybe it will help you get over being depressed.
Today I am feeling a little bit better. I was actually able to eat dinner last night. Until today I had a choice of icee or ice cream. More than once I had a 2 course meal. My face is still bruised but I am feeling a little stronger. I am not exercising until I am more recovered. I am also taking antibiotics and the rule for my body is when on antibiotics, rest and do as little as I can.

I'm around just not much to say.
Tasb, I know how it is when you have one of those special days, the date of my mother's death, her birthday and Mother's day all fall within two weeks, that entire two weeks is hard for me. Then my dad's death and father's day are close, plus his birthday all fall within a month of each other. From April 27th until the end of June is just one bad day after another, but I try my best to remember the good times during those days/weeks/months.
Been out shopping with my sister today and found Xander the cutest Easter basket, it is a sock monkey. I loved it, my mother made me a sock monkey when I was young and I have no idea what happened to it, every time I see one I think of my mother. So I guess this Easter basket was a little selfish on my part.

Hope every one is having a good week. I'm still not feeling well. I stayed home from work yesterday and slept off and on all day. I'm going in today, last day of the month is always a crazy day for us, so I'm sure I'll be wiped out by the time I get home. No Zumba at all so far this week. Does anybody else crave carbs when you're sick? That's all I wanted yesterday! I tracked everything and only went over my upper calorie limit by about 50, but I could have easily eaten more. I think it's that "comfort food" thing.
