    Oh Alisa, that's inspiration for ALL of us - how proud you should feel, and how great you look. Keep going friend, you are amazing

    tasb, I know I would be upset if a package supposed to be delivered was not delivered. They should have brought it no matter the weather.

    Alisa Lee, that is an incredible change!! Good job by the way for keep going back to Zumba. Does anyone else have before and after photos they would like to share?

    I did walk my 30 minutes today. I rarely give myself a break about exercising because I know there are going to be many times when I am not able to do it. My doctor has Tom in charge. He knows me and can tell when I am not doing well enough to exercise or we know there are going to be huge walks during the week. He helps her by stopping me before I get hurt. Next week I have to have 2 lung tests at a huge hospital. One test is Tuesday and one is Thursday. He might ask me not to walk Monday so I am strong enoughj to test on Tuesday and Thursday.

    My question for everyone is should I try to get a substitute for the 2 days or can we carry on the way we are doing without extra help?

    I just spoke to Jacqueline, Her surgery was much more extensive than she had imagined. She is in quite a bit of pain, After she sees her doctor on Tuesday she will know how long her recovery should take.

    Hi Team! Great to be here in 2013. It's going to be a rewarding year for all of us.

    Last year I took baby steps forming life-long habits resulting in a 30# weight loss. I don't know what I weigh now - I don't trust my scale. Besides, I know I'm not where I will be when it's time to start mainteance so I only weigh at doc appts.

    My plan: Exercise 40 mins min per day. I do the walking with Leslie Sansone dvds at least 3x per week and usually rent other dvds for variety. Once the weather is more tolerable I will be adding outdoor activities. Of course having a hobby farm provides lots of opportunity getting those muscles working.

    My eating plan is 5 or 6 small meals per day. Some may not agree with this but it's been working. I make sure I get 5 - 7 freggies per day, whole grains and plenty of water. Yes, protein. I'm not a huge meat fan and love tofu and beans so that important element is covered. I have some form with every meal.

    Spiritually. I attend church and a women's Bible study. I also have quiet time with God every day and at various opportunities.

    Mentally. I am on a Valentine challenge to boost my self-esteem. I am taking baby steps that will continue long past the challenge. It's important to have a healthy mind. I am also learning sign language and hope to go back to college in the fall to become an interpreter.

    Now, off to catch up on all the posts I've been missing!

    Granny Moses, welcome to the group, long time no see. You got quite the plan going, good for you. Congrats on the 30 lb loss already and more to come too.

    Laury, I think you should listen to Tom and rest up for your appointments. If you are going to be in a big hospital then remember to factor in that walking time into you daily walks. Let Jacqueline know we are sending her healing energy. Hopefully her recovery isn't too long. Hoping your tests give you some answers to help you breath better.

    Alisa Lea, WOW what a difference that 60 made. Sometimes it takes pictures to show us how well we are doing because looking in a mirror we don't see the difference because we look at ourselves everyday and don't see those drastic changes. I hid from the camera as I don't like to see how big I have gotten. I actually delete pics of myself when I take them.

    Me, well I am being lazy, I really need to get to making bread, but I was just so lazy this morning I ended up with a headache from laying around watching tv.

    Wow Alisa Lea you look amazing. I am in total of your work outs and the results.

    Laury, take of yourself and don’t worry about us we just do the best you can on your tests and we will be hoping for good results.
    Sorry Jacqueline is not doing well but think in the long run she will feel so much better, after physical therapy.

    Welcome Granny Moses and I love that you are taking baby steps as that leads to the best long term results.

    Last three days have thrown me off track, saw something this morning on the morning news were the anchor just became a personal train (her personal change last year) and she was saying people post asking all the time how she has time to work out given her job and family. The anchor stated she does a lot of little things throughout the day, such as taking a quick brake to do a few squats at her desk (has been known to spill the paper clips so no-one would know what she was doing), using the rest room on the next floor to force herself to claim the stairs, and jogging during commercials.

    So with all that in mind I am going to try this again icon_smile.gif

    Laury, as always you're in my prayers. I'll include Jac, too. Was hers rotator cuff? That's a rough recovery.

    Debbwl. don't let the last 3 days spoil your motivation. We all have our slips. It is hard trying to change bad habits. Why is it so easy to make bad habits?

    Granny Moses, have a great rest.

    Me, well I take all day to rest and recharge.I think my headache was mainly do me not taking allergy meds and lying around too much. I really should have just exercised during the day instead of waiting. But I got my bread done, 6 white and 4 multi-grain, also 15 pizza sticks. Don't worry no strain on the shoulder as I have a KitchenAid mixer to do all the hard work. Then when we were eating dinner I was actually looking at the time to calculate what time I could do my workout. So that is a big big step forward for me. Horrible thing is I had chili heartburn during my workout. I did 60 minutes. So I have doubled my time in 13 days. I also put in bursts of 30 seconds on each level of resistance for reps 2&3. I squat down just a bit and give her heck I can get 25-30 rpms more doing this and it is going to shape my legs even more and hopefully build up enough muscle for when I start my Jillian Michaels' DVD's in the next couple weeks.

    wave.gif Granny Moses! I am so glad that you are joining us. Congratulations on your 30 pound loss of last year. Exercising 40 minutes a day and eating 5 or 6 meals a day should help you lose more.

    tasb, we know what is going on with my lungs. The best would be if there were no changes in the tests from my previous ones. We know what I have, rheumatoid lungs, and there is no cure now and probably forever. What it means is my lungs build nodules inside them.

    Debbwl, going off track for 3 days is not great but maybe next time you will make other choices.

    My tests, by the way, are next week. My only appointment this week is my doctor on Thursday. To get through that appointment, my sister is picking us up when we are done. We will then proceed to have breakfast and then go to the library. I need to set up being able to check out library books for my Kindle.

    Hi friends! Whew, it took awhile to catch up on all your posts!

    How's your program going today? I'm tracking. My exercise, both sessions, complete. I tracked my nutrients and am in range on all counts. The baby steps I took that are now second nature - done. That includes a healthy breakfast and plenty of water.

    Part of the balance is spiritual. I still have my devotion to do. Mental balance, I am decluttering my bedroom today. That will help with peace of mind.

    What are your goals for today?

    Monday is my weigh-in day and I'm down another 4 lbs this week. 6 more to go to get back to my lowest weight from 2012 and then I can make some real progress. I'm doing good so far this year drinking my water and keeping up with my food log and I got in an hour of Zumba after work today. Not bad for a Monday! icon_smile.gif

    Laury, silly me forgetting what your test was for. Well fingers crossed here for no change. Have a great breakfast and library visit this week. I really should set up my Kobo for library books, I also have the Kindle and Kobo apps on my phone. As I am too cheap to buy books. (opps did I type that out loud). I just haven't found any books I really want to buy for my Kobo.

    Granny Moses, sounds like you got a great head start on accomplishing your goals. I find food tracking too complicated as I make way too much of what I eat, and I taste test alot too, so it is complicating to track everything. I just have to stop eating too much.

    Alisa Lea, way to go for a Monday, down 4 and 1 hour Zumba.

    Me, well I had a horrible nights sleep last night. It was one of those nights where you don't know if you are actually sleeping. I think it was due to the Reactine with decongestants I took yesterday. Beginning to think decongestants don't agree with me. I had troubles before when taking a different kind of allergy meds with those in it. But my sinuses feel so much better and my jaw hurts less, so they do help. Also stressing about having to deal with UPS, they didn't deliver my parcel and had it on hold for pickup. I called today and they didn't even try shipping it, so it will come in a couple days. I did get in another 60 minutes on the elliptical. I was trying to make excuses as my legs were just a bit sore, but I know I couldn't, so I got on. I had to mix up the third round of resistances instead of going for 1-6 for 2 minutes each, I had to do 1,3,5,2,4,6 then I went resistances 2-8 doing 1 minute each.

    Granny Moses, it sounds to me you are doing great!! Keep up the good work.

    Alisa Lee, losing 4 pounds in a week is wonderful!! Getting another hour of Zumba in is fantastic.

    tasb, I am impressed that you always get your exercising in everyday. That's excellent!!

    I have been very stressed out lately about having to have the tests, get to know a new lung doctor and everything we are trying to get done. We are having a neighbor come do a master clean of our apartment which will take 2 days this week, my computer person may come this week and an elder care group is coming. I know this is nothing compared to what everyone else does but for me who needs a lot of alone time and rest time it makes the week crowded.
    I have almost finished exercising for the week. 1 more today and I am done.
