Peggy, I hope you continue enjoying Brazil!!

Jacqueline, I do know that my doctor works well with me. She is extremely honest and will tell things as they are. She told me that finding out what's going on in my lungs is important. She also reminded me that finding out discovering the problem in one lungs is one step. Once we find out what's going on, the second step is making it stop. She and I both have a list of medical problems I have which have no way of stopping them. I am thinking positive but I am prepared for whatever the answer is.

Laury, I know that is the only way you can and be as happy as possible, sounds like happy go lucky but it isn't. My saying is an old one, whatever will be will be and I will learn to deal with it.

    Hi everyone.

Jacqueline, it is a smart thing to cut down fruit trees if you aren't putting them to use. Especially in bear country. I do my best to keep under my apricot tree picked up because the one year I didn't hubby ended up having to burn under the tree because there were so many bees out there. Good for you going down in weight. Keep up the good work. So good that you have our sister to help you do yard work and that you can help her too.

Laury, fingers crossed that you and your Lung Dr and regular Dr find out what is going on soon. Such a pain going though tests, but it is all for the better. I am happy that you found a Lung Dr, that is working this hard for you. That other one needs to get a new job if they aren't that committed to work. Being positive is a good thing. It helps your mood and helps handle difficult situations easier.

Leggy Peggy, enjoy your visit to Brazil. Must be fun visiting other countries. I have only been outside of Canada once.

Me, I have had a fairly busy week. Monday was a trip to town for my son's appt with the Child Psychologist. Finally convinced my son to get back on his ADD meds, and he feels better being on them this time. Tuesday we stayed home all day, was a kinda cool day, I did laundry and cleaned up under the apricot tree. Wednesday, I had the kids help clean the house, and I made a batch of jam and filled the dehydrator. Thursday, was a quick clean up of the kitchen and off to the Walk-In Clinic. My youngest looked like she had Pink Eye, the Dr is sure it was due to allergies and that her nose is stuffed so her tear duct wasn't draining, they gave us spray for her allergies. That seemed to help her eye wasn't as red this morning. Today, me and the kids picked apricots, and they washed them while I made more Juice. I think I have filled all my pint jars now. I still want to do a batch of Apricot Syrup and freeze some more before I call it a year.

Right now we are just trying to figure out what to do this weekend. It is a long weekend for us, so we want to get out. Of course MIL phoned hubby at work, asking what we are doing. After a couple of years sharing our vacation with her, we want to get away without her. Too many extra stops for her dog, too much waiting around for her, to get here and each morning while she took her dog out, or get ready in the mornings. And with her arthritis she walks slowly and tires out fast we could only do one thing a day then have to head back to where we were staying. Sounds stuck up of us, but we are the kind of people that just wanna get things done, especially traveling, less time driving and for stops then the more time we have at other places. Plus I have complained to hubby that I am tired of being car sick on vacation and smelling like a dog I don't own. I always sit in the back seat because I am too kind, which makes me sick, I usually end up playing games on my phone as focusing in something helps me not feel as sick. We take her truck because it has room and usually her dog is on the back seat, but she puts the dog in the box of the truck and puts a blanket over the seat, which doesn't get rid of the dog smell.

Tasb until you added the bit about the dog I was going to tell you to be careful you will be old and have arthritis too one day. I know I am a lot slower than my younger friends, because of it, but the dog did it for me, Good for you for standing up for what you want.

He couldn't do it. He called his mom and invited her around 6. I am more than nice. I spend more time with her than he does when she stops by for visits. He takes off back to his office, me and the girls sit and watch tv, or go out to the garden. I am the first to slow down when she starts going slower. Most times I am the one waiting and then walking at her pace. But he told her that we will be taking our SUV, and there is no space for the dog. Plus our plans are to go to the big fireworks show, her big truck with a monsterous canopy is just too huge to be driving in traffic. They are expecting over 400 thousand people there. So I will be car sick once again, knowing me I will give up the front passenger seat, but at least I won't smell like a dog.

I think you need to tell her you get car sick and need the front seat. I am glad there is no room for the dog and that your husband stood up for you on this. Not all will do that. Dog doesn't need to be around fireworks anyway it makes them crazy, or it has any dog I have been around.

Have fun. Hope some more check in this weekend.

tasb, have fun on your weekend trip. Hopefully your MIL will be willing to give up the front seat to you so you won't have car sickness. Enjoy the few days together!!

    Leggy Peggy, enjoy Peru!!

    Jacqueline, have a good weekend!

My body is being unusually painful and I think that it must have to do with stress. I am very stressed about the Thursday appointment. I haven't had to be admitted to the hospital in over 12 years. I am sad that I have to be admitted this year. My sister has been playing down the surgery and meeting with the surgeon. Today we told her that it is in-patient surgery and it isn't all that minor a test. I'm sure everything will work out soon.

We are back, wasn't as a productive trip. But the driving was way better, no extra stops for a dog, driving around the city didn't involve jumping curbs with the back wheels, actually had to hold on for dear life a few times because the vehicle corners so fast. We got down there stopped at hubby's sister's house where we were staying. Then for the life of me I don't know why they want to eat in for dinner, so we had to pick up food at a grocery store, of course lost grandma in the store a few times.

Then after dropping off the food we went to try find some old haunts of my hubby's, mainly a East Indian Store that he would by traditional candy from, of course 13 years later it wasn't around, not that it didn't help he really didn't know what block it was on. He went for a hair cut too, which took forever. Then back to SIL's where I had to cook dinner (atleast it was only chicken wings), then we relaxed for a bit. Then off to the fireworks, we went to a beach far away, so we couldn't really see some of the lower ones. Got lost afterwards. Finally found the vehicle and got stuck in traffic, we left about 10:30 from the beach and didn't get back to the house until just after midnight. Where grandma decided to have a cup of tea before bed. She kept stirring her tea and it just echoed. So it was after 12:30 before we finally slept. I think she overheard my youngest saying that grandma was noisy, as she stopped stirring after that.

I woke at 6:50 but just read a book while waiting for everyone to get up, grandma was up and making tea again at 6:30. I got up 20 mins later after I heard hubby talking, had a coffee and let the kids sleep a little longer. We went for breakfast and while we were sitting there, I realized she was stirring her coffee for like 2 minutes. After breakfast we hit to road and came home, only stops were once for gas, once for drinks, and once for a few minutes to stretch.

I forgot to add that I was probably a little hungover on the way down. We had a few drinks the night before, I had my usual amount, but I had a slight headache. After our stop for lunch we went to a grocery store to look for clip-on sunglasses for hubby, so I bought sunglasses, I haven't had a pair in over 17 yrs. Then about 1/2 hr down the road hubby pulled over and got me to drive. I last drove that highway about 16 yrs ago. So I have to concentrate but I am flying down the highway, doing traffic speeds, which was sometimes over the 110 km speed limit. I could see my MIL looking over from time to time checking my speed. Later that night I told hubby I must have been scaring her, as she has never been my passenger. He said she does it too him too.

I finally did it, after 1 month and 20 days I finally got around to exercising once again. I was going to weigh myself this morning but didn't. I better do that tomorrow and take measurements too to see how far I set myself back. I got on my elliptical trainer, and man it was tough I wanted to get off after 10 minutes but I forced myself to do a whole 30 minutes.

tasb., it sounds as if you had a better experience with your weekend trip. Grocery shopping is difficult enough without your whole family and MIL to keep track of. It's wonderful that you exercised yesterday. Keep up the good work!!

I am frustrated about having to go to a new doctor tomorrow. Filling out all the paper work is ridiculous because the hospital keeps all the information on the computer. Yesterday they called and told me I have to have a CT scan before the doctor would see me. They had a 1PM appointment for me to have it. Then I had to get to a different part of town for my 3PM appointment with the doctor. They don't realize there are people who don't drive. I objected to this so they now have me doing it in the same building as my doctor's appointment. This scan has to be done with the dye injected into my body. I look forward to none of this but I will do what they tell me.

Laury, hope your doctor's appointment goes fine today.

For me I have a terrible cold, haven't been eating anything to speak of and mostly staying in bed.

    More when I feel better.

Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow!! I will post when I am released. It is in-patient surgery. Why do it now? It has to be done and the sooner they know what's going on the better.

    Feel better soon, Jacqueline!!

Laury, good luck with your surgery. I can't wait to hear from you as soon as you can get back on. Such a pain those Drs' were being. I pray that you get some answers soon and that treatment won't be too harsh.

Jacqueline, get lots of rest, not fun being sick.

Me, well I got on my elliptical last night, but 6 minutes later the whole family was heading off to bed so I decided I had better stop there, as it has a very bad squeak and click in it. This morning I got up and jumped on the scale and felt very bad, I am 167.4 lb, which is like my second heaviest weight, so I know I have to smarten up now. I got on my elliptical for 30 mins just before lunch and did as much of my physio as I could handle. Man I am weak, I had to stop because I just couldn't do anymore, which is sad because I was up to 3 times the amount I was told to do just before I quit almost 2 months ago. I did some as double the amount but I couldn't finish the whole round of exercises.

ETA: RecipeReader, you must have been posting while I was typing. Good to see you and also happy to hear you kept up your walks.
