Laury, good to hear that you and Tom had a great day for his birthday. Sorry to hear you have having asthma attacks. But awesome that you have lost 2 lbs.
Jacqueline, I think that is how everyone does house cleaning, start one thing and decide to move something some where and go start "cleaning" there, the next thing everything is a mess.
Me, well I have been tired that past couple days. Yesterday my word of the day was "Ouch", everything was just hurting me, my shoulder, hip, back. I couldn't move without saying ouch. Then my next favorite things to say was "Oh Crap", things kept slipping on me because I couldn't get a good grip on them. I was ready to excuse myself from exercising, but I decided I had better to my Squat Challenge, so I don't get behind in that. Then decided if I am going to do that then I better do PT exercises, since those are the ones that keep me from falling apart. So I got in a whole workout and felt better after. Today I feel so much better, not as sore, no oh crap,

Laury, Great on the 2 lb weight loss. Please tell Tom a Happy Belated Birthday for me.
Well my house is still not clean like I want it, but my grass is mowed and my flower bed is pretty much cleaned out. Now the flower garden being cleaned happened due to some friends of mine, but I still helped and have a few more things to do in it.
Tomorrow I am keeping Xander and 8 month old, he is my Andie's baby brother. So I doubt I will be getting much done with him here.
I think I am about to get back on track with my eating and hopefully the scales will move downward. Still have my 2 lbs off even with eating a little banana pudding.

tasb, you totally amaze me with the way you force yourself to work out. I so wish I was that way. If something hurts a little bit it is enough for me to forego exercise.
I wish I could push through things but I don't have the "get up and go" to do it. I rarely complain of pain and I have a very high pain tolerance but if something hurts I am skipping exercise.

I have a funny, but true, story to share. Tom bought 2 packages of Newton Fruit Thins yesterday. He opened one package and we each had a few. Then Tom looked at the expiration date stamped on the bag. It's stamped best by August 23, 2113 10:36. The other bag is stamped best by August 23, 2113 10:35. He was kind of upset we opened the later bag first. I told him that either we would like them and finish both bags before then or we will not like them and toss them before then.
I started my exercising for the week today and got in 2 walks so far. I then had an asthma attack so had to quit for a while. Tom's going to leave today to do errands, etc. so I have all day to fit the next walk in. I lost 1 more pound.

Laury, Great on the pound lost. Sorry you had an asthma attack. I love Newton Fruit Thins, esp. the lemon, I can't buy them because I'd eat the entire bag if I did. If you like Ginger cookies there is one out there by a company called Anna's that is wonderful. I can't buy them either I can eat the entire package of them, too.

Jacqueline, I tend to have more self control over what I eat. For several years my doctor asked us to keep chocolate in the fridge. When I am having a bad day, or I start crying and can't get it under control, I have 2 pieces and wait 20 minutes. By then, my mood has improved and my crying has ceased.
On the bag of blueberry crisps there is a phone number. I called the number yesterday .I asked about the time stamp. The reason there is a time stamp is it shows what time the crisps are produced. If there is a problem with the crisps whch batch to recall.
Tomorrow we are going to a 40th anniversary party where we took the class on plays. We had decided not to go because we don't have fancy clothes but they claim some people are going and will be in jeans.

I have no self control or discipline if I did I'd be up cleaning house right now. FB and Food.com just need to disappear for a while so I can get my work done. I have no idea how I disciplined myself to study when I was in school, could it be that it was before the computer? I have been trying to get my house cleaned for over 2 weeks now and I hate to tell this but I have lost one of the chairs to my dinning room table. It has to be in this house somewhere but I sure can't find it.
On Wednesday I go see the new doctor for my weight loss surgery and I can't wait. I hope she knows some way to get me back on track. I may ask to see their psychologist and see if he can help me get control of my life again. I honestly believe that I had no control of it when Dad was alive and I just can't get back into doing what needs to be done. Excuses there is always one.

Jacqueline, don't worry too much. I think you will start getting on track soon enough. I think once you start seeing your new Dr. and get some encouragement that you will turn things around and get losing again. My "get up and go, got up and left" me for 2 years. I thought I really tried but I didn't to get myself turned around. After my surgery last year I just let everything go. I didn't care what I ate, I didn't exercise. I had ever excuse not to exercise. It wasn't until I really looked at the scale and did the math that I scared myself. I had gained back all the weight I had lost. I feel like I am falling apart, everything seems to hurt on me, my shoulder, hip, back. I was so upset with myself and I started exercising in Jan, but gave it up when I started getting sick.

I agree with tasb, Jacqueline! Once you see this doctor on Wednesday, you may have feel like you have more self control.
I was very disappointed in the party on Saturday night. Things were not organized correctly even though the organization had known it was going to take place about 6 weeks ahead of time. There was a table for donations but nobody could find a cash box. There was nobody to run the elevator between the basement and the 1'st floor. There was a buffet but they kept running out of food. There were exactly 2 tables and 12 chairs in the basement where about 300 people were eating. Tom and I grabbed 2 seats at one table when we got there and we got there early. We did get to meet people as they would come and eat.

I've been away for five days to a girls' long weekend. As expected we
stayed up too late, ate too much, drank too much, laughed too hard and had
a great ole time. Now it's back to the real world. The scale was not kind to
me this morning, but I'm given myself a good talking-to and am ready to
refocus on losing some weight.
I understand how easy it is to feel like life is out of control. Hope everyone
is getting their mind to cooperate. I stopped smoking seven years ago
tomorrow so have reminded myself I can do tough stuff.
Laury, pity about the party, but at least you and Tom had seats.
Jacqueline, I bet the new doctor will make a lot of difference. You've been
drifting for awhile without a doctor, so here's hoping the appointment is a
new starting point.
tasb, seems like you have been sick most of the time since this thread

Hey there everyone, hope things are going great for you. I have spent today trying to get all the paper work ready to go see the new doctor.... tomorrow. Yelp, I messed up again, I thought it was on Wednesday but no it is tomorrow. Tomorrow would also have been my dad's 91 birthday. It will be a bitter sweet day for me, sweet because I get to see this new doctor/group, bitter because my dad is not here, although I feel his presence a lot.
I found my dinning room chair that was missing, it is in the basement, I swear I do not remember putting it there. I also discovered that my sump pump in the basement is not working correctly so I have to buy a new one. A friend of mine is going to check and see what kind I need an pick one up for me. The one I have still works, but water is running out the motor. Tom, my friend, first said that I had probably knocked it over and broke a seal and I told him it was going on 39 years old and he decided it had probably dry rotted. Oh, the joys of being a home owner.
I getting off here to finish watching DWTS and then to bed, I guess, so I can be ready for my appointment tomorrow.
Hope all are back on track, well and happy.

Hey ladies..... been lurking lately instead of posting. Two weeks ago I had a bad week food wise, then last week I did much better but worked too many hours to make my Zumba classes. When I weighed this morning I have finally dropped 1 more pound and I managed to make it to class tonight, so maybe I'm back on track. At least until we go on vacation the first week of June!

Just a quick post to let you gals know I am still here. Spent most of my day being busy. I froze 2 bags of spinach, washed and picked out the good baby lettuce. After lunch I junked out the freezers 2 shopping bags to the garbage and a big bucket to the compost. Then started the bread, rearranged the freezers and defrosted one. Oh and helped the kids hang their laundry, still no dryer. Finished baking the bread and took a sit down. Still got in my workout tonight.

Just checking in to say I saw the new doctor, actually her ARNP and dietitian yesterday and was very impressed. The dietitian wants me to have two protein shakes a day with at least 35 grams of protein and 1 meal with protein and veggies. No snacking although I can half my evening protein drink so I can have it just prior to go to bed. Today I had to have a little snack early on but I will gradually get out of that habit I think.
I also hadn't gained as much weight as I thought. Figured this out when I was filling out my paper work and going through things with old weights on them. I was happy about that. Now to get back on track. Nothing was said about exercise but I go back in a month and I am sure it will come, although I am going to start back sometime this week.

Jacqueline, I'm very happy that you like the staff of the new doctor. I know filling out paperwork for new doctors is very time consuming. Most of my new doctors mail me all the paperwork which makes it much easier. So many times I have to have Tom check the papers and make sure I am answering correctly. I hope the new doctor will help get you back on track.
I have been lurking here and helping in another forum that is down a few hosts. I would go there anyway so helping out is not that difficult.
