Jacqueline, I'm glad that you are feeling better today. I have been lurking around.

Tonight is the night of the play. We bought a ticket for our household help because she said she was going to take us and bring us back. We haven't heard from her today, however. She normally cleans for us today but she didn't come. I finally left her a message but still haven't heard from her. Tom seems kind of upset but we are going no matter what.

Hey everybody! Just checking in. I missed getting notifications for postings, so I hadn't realized I'd been absent for a bit. I just got caught up with everyone's news.
I'm still walking every day, about 1.25 to 1.5 miles.
And a couple times a week, in the evening, I've asked my DH to take a short walk with me for a little exercise and to enjoy the beautiful spring that we're having. He likes to do about a half mile, which is a nice start for him and is bonus exercise for me.
My slow weight loss continues, and I did hit my goal at the end of March - so I am ok with it. I'm averaging 2-3 lbs per month. Since I'm not really "dieting", that's pretty good.
Now, I'm ready to lose another five pounds in the next couple months!

Way to go Recipe Reader. It's making it a habit that is the hardest part. Good for your DH too!

Recipe Reader, you are doing wonderfully with losing weight and exercise!!

Laury, good that you and your sister can make the appointments together. Support and a ride. Good to hear that the meals are making your's and Tom's lives easier. How was the play?

Jacqueline, hope you are fully recovered from the virus. Happy to hear that your PT thinks you have progressed far enough not to need help with your shoulder, but it is probably a good thing that you are going for a little longer. Sounds like your weather pattern is the same as ours. We were very chilly here then all of a sudden it warmed up. Been a little chillier here, but we are finally getting some rain.

K9, even though you lost your appetite at least you are craving salads.

Recipe Reader, good for you keeping up your walking and getting your hubby involved. It will do him good too. The only time I can get my hubby to go walk is when we go fishing. I am not too into fishing, I just sit around and take pictures. Everyone in my house owns a rod but me. Awesome that you hit your goal and are still continuing to loss.

Me, well I started exercising again 2 days ago. I am really taking a beating too. I am only doing PTx2 without the bridge on ball, and I am trying a 30 Squat Challenge. I am feeling it majorly, my abs are killing me, and same with my thighs.

Nice to hear everyone's news and know that life is going in the right direction.

I've been travelling a bit and not watching what I eat. The scale says I'd
better get back to work. So I walked up a mountain today. There were
scores of kangaroos. Next time I'll take the camera and get a pic to share.

Jacqueline, I'm glad you are feeling better since the stomach flu. Tom had it a few days ago. I have it now. I have a feeling there will be a few days break from exercise.

tasb, great that you started exercising again!!

Leggy Peggy, I would love to see pictures of things like the kangaroos.

The play was fabulous!! We are going to continue going to plays especially Sunday matinees. We both plan to take the class again next year and my sister will be joining us.

So good to hear from everyone, I was beginning to think Laury and I were just posting to one another. icon_smile.gif I realize that everyone gets busier when Summer time gets here.

I am really trying to work my shoulder there are a couple of positions that still really hurt so am increasing the exercise that helps that.

Recipe Reader, so happy for you that you hit your goal. I wish I'd just get down about 30 lbs and not worry about a goal.

I guess I am going to get Miss Andie after school today and we will do something, just not sure yet. We had terrible storms over night but not near what they said we'd have, so I guess out door play is out of the picture. Her little brother is in Children's hospital at the University of KY. He had a stomach virus and apparently he can no longer handle his formula. We are praying he comes home today because Andie sure misses her mother and we want him well.

I did fire up my riding lawn mower yesterday and mowed behind the barn just to make sure all was OK.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Just a short-term goal, Jacqueline!
I do have about 30 pounds to go also, for a long-term goal. I'm just not used thinking in those terms, because it seemed impossible. Now, I'm thinking perhaps by the end of the year!

Jacqueline, I will keep Andie's family in my prayers. I hope that you find something fun to do together.

Recipe Reader, I like your idea of breaking your goal into smaller chunks. When you do that, it makes it easier to accomplish.

I was ill yesterday but I feel better today. I hope to start exercising again tomorrow. It is Tom and my 18th anniversary but I will exercise before he is up or when he is not around. I have stopped being terrified about the test to put a tube in my windpipe. This doctor only works for the hospital one afternoon a week. It is difficult to get an appointment with him. Since he has a hard time being so busy it might be months or years before he has time to do it.

Hope everybody is having a good weekend! Happy anniversary Laury. Ours was Thursday (28 years) so we celebrated today and went to Galveston for the afternoon. Cruised Seawall Blvd with the top down on the Miata, hit a resale shop and had an amazing meal at our favorite Greek restaurant.

I got in my 3 Zumba classes this week, plus we've started doing an extra 20 minutes of toning/core after class on Monday and Wednesday night. I've also started walking again. I have a 1.25 mile route around the neighborhood and I've done that 3 times this week. What I am struggling with is the after dinner grazing. I've had two bad nights in the last week where I just kept putting food in my mouth in the evening. icon_rolleyes.gif It stinks to do really good all day and then blow it between dinner and bedtime. I usually just have fruit or hot tea in the evening. Oh well, if it ain't one thing it's another. icon_lol.gif

Happy anniversary to you, also, Alisa Lea!! You are doing wonderfully with exercise. I understand how hard it is not to graze between dinner time and bed time. Do you keep fruit and/or vegetables readily available? When we had celery cleaned and easy to grab it was a great snack. I would choose other food, however, when I knew that either Tom or I had to clean it and make it ready to be eaten.

I did my 3 walks today. I also got a Kindle Fore free book on Yoga. On days I don't exercise I can get try it out.

Snacking between dinner and bedtime is my downfall too! Its as though dinner just primes the pump icon_smile.gif

I agree than if there are healthy choices ready to eat I will choose them but if not... look out fridge, pantry and chocolate stash! icon_lol.gif

I swear some nights I "think" I feel hungrier after I eat dinner then I did before! I know that's my head talking, not my stomach but it's hard to ignore. icon_rolleyes.gif I always have fruit & veggies, greek yogurt, green tea, sugarfree jello, Special K cereal and almond milk, etc available, but even too much of that stuff at night isn't a good thing. And of course one of those nights last week my DD and DDIL were baking red velvet cupcakes. I had one still warm with the icing slightly melting, and it was so yummy. There's still a few left but I have no interest in them now (thank goodness!).

I'm back, sorry for going missing for a couple of days but I did drop by and read. Andie's little brother is fine, he was just having problems with his formula after having had a stomach virus.

Today my sister and I got up and drove up to Lexington, KY (3 hour drive each way) and visited our Dad's only sister, that is still living, she will be 96 tomorrow and is still such a joy to be around. Needless to say I am worn out. Fixing to call it a night and start new tomorrow.

Hope everyone has had a great week-end.
