    Great news Laury!

Even with being sick last week and missing 2 Zumba classes I still lost 2 more pounds, so I'm feeling motivated. After the time change this weekend I want to start walking a couple of days a week again. I did last spring but then it got so hot over the summer I stopped. (excuses, excuses)

Laury, get lots of rest and I am sure Tom will let you know when you can get walking again. So happy you were accepted for Medicaid and Medicare. Good thing Tom saved those receipts.

Jacqueline, I almost want to say keep the snow there. We had enough of it this year, but it was trying to snow today here. Take care of yourself and get stronger soon.

Bonnie, have lots of fun, can't wait to see pics.

K9, hopefully you get your house sold soon, that would be a pain having to walk the dogs every time someone comes. The dogs are probably wondering what is up too, they probably smell other people.

Leggy Peggy, good for you getting back on track. But I bet it was fun having so many people visiting.

Alisa Lea, good for you dropping another 2 lbs.

Me, well I haven't done much since my last check in. I really wanted to exercise yesterday but breadmaking got in the way. I didn't start until 6 and finished just after 9, and that was with only letting it rest 15 minutes before shaping. But I got 9 loaves and 25 pizza sticks made, so not a bad night after all. I didn't sleep well last night because of stress. I talked with my sister last week and she has developed Vertigo, and today was her CT Scan to see if Chemo has affected her brain or to see what is causing it. So that caused me lots of worry last night. I didn't get to call her tonight. I think she would be too tired from the traveling to talk anyways so I will call tomorrow to see how things went. I did exercise tonight though. I got in my Jillian workout, and the elliptical trainer, to equal 1 hr 15 mins. Then also did my physio exercises with the added balance ball exercises. I picked up a new one this weekend, but I am thinking it will have to go back, it isn't holding air. I guess that is what I get for paying $20. I also picked up some new resistance bands too. My workout area is looking pretty girly right now, I have lots of pink, (yoga mat, balance ball, 1 lb weight, ankle weights, resistance bands, and purple 8 lb weights.)

Leggy Peggy, that's fantastic that you lost 2 more pounds. Now that you and your husband don't have company you can decide what you want to do now.

Jacqueline, I know it's hard to wait until you will be able to resume doing more things.

Yea, Alisa Lea!! :psing 2 more pounds is great!!

tasb, you got a huge amount of breadmaking done!! I will keep your sister in my prayers. You always get in a lot of exercise with the elliptical andJillian. Now you will be adding a balance ball. That's fantastic!!

I have decided to step down as a forum host. There are too many times when I wake up as tired as I went to sleep. Those are days that Tom wants me off the computer and simply resting in whatever way I can. Each day there are more tests, doctors and paperwork. It seems to be endless. I will continue helping Jacqueline run this group. I do appreciate how everyone helps everyone else.

Laury, sorry to hear you are stepping down as host, as long as you don't leave us. You inspire too many of us to get moving. Get as much rest as you can, please check in when you can.

Me, when I make bread I don't do too much work, the hardest part is shaping the loaves, I have a KitchenAid mixer that does all the hard work. I make just over 6 lbs of dough per batch, and I usually make 2 batches at a time. I have shaping the loaves down to a science so it takes me about 15-20 minutes to shape 12 loaves. I make huge batches so I don't have to make bread all the time. We could easily eat 1 loaf a day.

Good to hear from everyone. Laury and I talked last night on the phone and I will certainly miss her as a host. I actually came back to hosting to help Laury, so this has been a disappointment to me but I competely understand how she feels about it and her health comes first. This one thread is my passion and I know nothing about special diets for allergies and such, except to avoid the food you are allergic to. All I will do there is to keep the spam away or try to. I am hoping someone will come around that has an interest in specail diets and want to host. I can post here without hosting but I have a tendency to not come to at all or to only look for a recipe if I am not hosting.

Laury please don't make yourself scarest around here, we need you and would miss you.

I did exercise tonight, I did Jillian and my elliptical trainer, I will do my PT exercises as soon as I get the kids in bed. I am kinda suprised with myself for doing them, as I had to run into town to pick up my son one last time after work today. Took 2 1/2 hours tod o the whole trip and I got and ate a full Wendy's salad. I will probably finish off my med Fruitopia, not that I really think that is a medium, holy crap that is a huge drink.

Yesterday I really worked hard at getting my eating back on track and not eating junk food. Did pretty good with it too, but my drinking sucked. I am also cutting out soda in any form, although I only drank diet, I am not drinking it either. Did excellent with that, but didn't make it up in water. Today I must do better. I also got on my wii fit yesterday for a few minutes. Gotta build up to doing more of everything though.

Jacqueline, just because I am not here as a host, doesn't mean I won't be here almost daily. I will check the posts and help on health questions when ever you need help. You can always z-mail me questions. You are doing great with your food plan and exercise!!

tasb, I am not leaving!! My life right now is so complicated and I don't need the stress of being a host. It wasn't an easy decision and some of it was from Tom who knows that I am always tired.

I already feel some stress relief knowing that I don't have to do anything but I can do what I want. I thought that I would gain weight by not exercising but I lost one pound!!

Laury, good for you feeling less stressed and losing a pound. I am happy you arent leaving us.

Jacqueline, eating healthier is such a challenge. I havent really gotten back on track with my eating.

Me, I am doing better this week ith eating though. Yesturday's dinner salad, lunch was ww pasta with veggie sauce, dinner tonight was chicken stir-fry and rice. I really want my kind of Greek Salad, but forgot to grab tomatoes.

This morning things got more stressful, I started up my SUV, came in to get my bag, then I got outside, there was a radiator leak icon_mad.gif I thought it was the hose, but hubby thought the radiator. So I had to jump on with hubby. I was able to get it into the local mechanic this morning. I need a new radiator, but it isnt too huge a bill. Around $360 with install.

Laury glad you already feel less stress, it is strange how we can let volunteer work because a real, non-paying, job. I think most of us do that though. I am doing my best not to.

Tasb, sorry about the auto problem. Glad you could catch a ride with your DH though. No $350 is not bad for automobile problems. My car is now 11 years old and I am sure it will start having problems soon. I do keep my maintenance up though so I hope it will last several more years.

I have done fair with my eating but wonderful without soda, so I am happy, it will all come back in time. I did find that doing exercise other than what is given to me by PT causes my shoulder to start hurting. Seems I hurt my shoulder every morning when I get dressed. Gotta figure out what is going on with that.

Have a good day everyone and just remember one more day until the weekend.

I got my car back already, and for less that what was quoted, $309. I am so happy to have it back. I hate the feeling of not having my own vehicle.

I had a massively busy day at work. The morning started out at 8:05 with a line of kids waiting for waffles, just Eggos, but I didn't get them all filled up until 9. Then after cleaning the tables in bringing in the dishes I got started right away on Popcorn, I got that finished just in time for snack at10:20. Then right into heating the flat-top and getting breakfast dishes started. Cooked up 60 burgers, or should I say heated up, I buy a kind of burger that is pre-cooked, they are ready faster and I found the taste better. Then mixed up Bannock dough, using 24 cups of flour. After serving lunch I sat down until 1 and got back into the kitchen and my afternoon consisted of frying the bannock while cleaning the kitchen. 2 1/2 hours after getting started I had 54 bannock fried, and into the frig for tomorrow's Professional Development lunch. I won't be there because I have an appointment for my son. I did this out of guilt. I could have left it for the person they hired to cook tomorrow. But she will have her hands full.

Then tonight I got in my workout. I tried to put it off another night by calling my sister but got a busy tone twice, so I thought I better not make another excuse and got working out. I did my 30 Day Shred, just barely getting through the arm workouts. Then on to the elliptical for 48 minutes, then PT exercises, but I was feeling pretty good by then and did double the exercises. No cracking or creaking this time around so I am feeling so much better.

Jacqueline, it's fantastic that you were able to give up drinking soda. About exercising other than what PT recommended hurting, does it matter what exercise you are doing? I know that many exercises I simply can't do anymore but changing exercises to simply walking has been successful.

tasb, it sounds as if you had a busy day at work yesterday. Then you came home and still exercised. Good for you!! I'm pleased that your car was fixed quickly and at a better price than you expected. Have fun with your son today.

I had a visit yesterday from my Elder Options counselor. She explained how Medicare and Medicaid worked together. Now we are submitting all medical bills including my medication bills so we may receive some money back. I also found out that we will be getting some home health worker coming out 6 hours a week who we hope will help Tom with cleaning. I am also able to get Meals On Wheels. The company we chose mails 22 frozen meals a month. I can choose the 22 meals.
I plan to do a little exercising when I am alone today. I hope to get in at least 2 walks/

tasb, Happy you got your car fixed in a day and got it back so quickly. Great job on getting the exercise in. Maybe you can get in touch with your sister tonight.

Laury, Wonderful news on the Meals on Wheels, never heard of them mailing you 22 meals a month, is Tom able to get those, too? Home Health helped me some with dad, they didn't do house work for me but they did sit with him so I was able to get out one day a week.

I am going to a party tonight, it doesn't start until 11 PM, so untelling what time I will be home, but I don't imagine we, my sister and I, will stay long. We are usually in bed by that time.

Jacqueline, it is very strange about the Medicare/Medicaid and Tom. He called to enroll me once I turned 60 last November. He also said that he wanted to sign up as well. Nobody is sure what happened to his application. He is still working on getting approved. For some reason I was taken care of first. At some point he will be able to get some services but until he is approved we don't know what services he will be eligible for. I have a feeling that he will take 1 or 2 of my 22. He makes lunch every day for both of us.

I have found that I am able to exercise. I walked 10 minutes Friday, 30 minutes yesterday and 20 minutes so far today. I plan to do one more today. My mouth is still swollen but it's healing. Tuesday I meet with my new lung specialist. It is going to be interesting. They sent me lots of pages to fill out and answer questions. The only problem is I filled them out before I got medicare/medicaid. We had no idea how long the papers would take me to fill out and my medicare/medicaid was only explained to us a few days ago. (I think Tom will picked up something like White Out and I will correct the answers I have to. Sunday is his market day.)
