Happy New Year!

Today I'm making bread, and will do something with pork ~ it's raining here! I've never been too keen on traditional New Year's Day food, so I know I won't include black eyed peas!

My son hates black-eyed peas, so I'm doing some baked beans to go with the smoked pork for him. Black-eyes aren't my favorite, but I know my Mom will ask if I ate them....she's big on tradition!

I've MERP'd Traditional Bread (Abm) #384305 ~ think I let the loaf rise too long because a huge air bubble formed underneath the top crust! Tastes great though!

So that's what causes the air bubble, I made Easy No Knead Dutch Oven Crusty Bread and had a HUGE air bubble in it, I thought it might have been because I forgot to slice the top - but I did have a very extended rising time too.

That bread looks wonderful! I didn't know what caused the air bubbles either! I'm learning so much on this site!

My son was reminiscing about one winter when there was a tag going on on Zaar that involved lots of hot chocolate making......I think he was hinting that he'd like some.
