    Thank you, Joy!

I already feel miles better now that I'm home! Yes, we're missing out on the planned Christmas holiday in Stellenbosch. BUT ... in a sense it might be a good thing!

We're retired, and can always go a little later. It is hellishly hot in the Western Cape right now -- not our favourite weather. Also, I haven't done any gift shopping and would have had to brave the incredible summer crowds in the malls there, attend the Christmas wine farm picnic which had been organised, AND travel to see my mother.

Much as I adore my family and that part of the country, it is now too late and for me just a little too exhausting after the health scare and the 8 days in hospital. So there is relief in the idea that Granny Zuri won't have to "perform" in 40 deg C heat!! icon_wink.gif
