    Late Fall

    Our fall has been so mild that I have not done much in the way of winterizing. I don't do much anyway, I tend to plant very hardy plants - Chicago area - but I did plant a fig tree this year that is supposed to be hardy - supposedly it was discovered in a Chicago yard. I have finally put some protection over it. Supposedly it needs protection for the first year and should be ok after that. Here's hoping - the thought of having my own figs is quite exciting!
