I think he makes an excellent mascot, although you might want to use a pic of him awake.... he looks so relaxed and is that a stuffed bunny he has there??
We knew Emily's parents. Her mother was a purebred German Shepherd and the father was a wolf/German Shepherd hybrid. If I had not met them I would have sworn that Emily had Lab in her. Perhaps a recessive gene somewhere - either parent could have had lab in them from great, great, great grandparents.
It was almost spooky for Don. He thought I had posted a pic of Em when he saw Jarly.
That just convinces me even more that Jar's got shepherd in his background! They "thought" he was a "lab mix" at the shelter. More and more, I suspect whoever thought that had never seen a black dog OTHER than a lab. Or maybe calling him a lab made him seem more adoptable. I actually suspect there's very little lab in him after all.
I do think there's something "bully" in him - something about the shape of his head.
And his ears - they WANT to stand up like your Emily's, K9 (gosh, she was gorgeous, wasn't she), but he can usually only manage one at a time, and kind of makes him look like Yoda.
And I've been trying to drop some of his weight - he's already getting more definition in his middle part.
Guys, he was SO excellent yesterday - he got to the office, and about half an hour later I took him for his afternoon walk (all the way to the end of the office park - UP a hill and back!), he did his business, then he came back, kept me company while I was copying (he didn't much like being in there, but he kept his down-stay as long as he needed to), then back into my office, to his bed, to nap (i.e., snore and fart) for the rest of the afternoon.
Then we listened to some Santana in the car on the way home.
