I think a selection of seasoned salts or herb mixes for cooking would be a nice thought. I bought some sets at Penzey's last year and they were good but quite expensive, even on sale. Especially when I bought a bunch of them.
Fool's Salt - Sel Fou - French Style Seasoning Salt
    Citrus-Herb Seasoning Salt
    Yellow Pincho Seasoning
    Greek Seasoning

    Vanilla Extract (Cooks Illustrated)

Another cookie mix, Gingersnap Mix in a Jar
salad dressing mix, Caesar Salad Dressing Mix

I used to start my Christmas baking 1 month before;filled the cupboard and freezer; just loved this period of the year. Things have changed so I don't do much of this anymore, but do enjoy what my kids bring when they come to visit.

I love, love, love homemade gifts! Especially ones that can be eaten. icon_biggrin.gif These are some of my favorites. The quick bread in a jar was a recipe I created for a contest here, and the homemade vanilla turned out so good that my cousin won't use anything else anymore. For the last 2 years she calls me about every 6 months to get another refill! icon_lol.gif

    Love Honey

    Peach Pineapple Jam

    Strawberry & Peach Jam

    Homemade Vanilla

Cranberry White Chocolate Quick Bread Mix in a Jar
