Since it's been a long time since anyone posted

Last night, the deli had 8 pieces of roast chicken marked down to $3.50.

    I bought 2 pkg.

One meal was roast chicken, rice, and sliced fruit.
The rest is in the crockpot on 'keep warm.' In a little while, I'll shred up the leftovers for tomorrow's chicken enchiladas.

After Easter, I was found hams marked waaaay down at Super WalMart:

    spiral -- $0.79/lb
    double-glazed spiral -- $0.99/lb

Their 'sell by' date was a month away.
    I bought
7 hams for me. (5 went into the freezer).
    3 hams for friends.

(And there were still 20 or 30 hams left in the refrigerated case. If I had more freezer space, I would have bought more!)

I'm thawing one ham now -- ham slices + cornbread tomorrow night.

Then leftover ham for sandwiches, quiche, omelets, and split pea soup.

Aldi's had some portioned gummi type treats on clearance, I guess, $1.99 down from $3.99 - as Mr Grumpy loves these, I bought two boxes.

I did what you did, Jora, with hams - at Aldi after Easter. They were all $5 off, so I bought the smaller ones, for a huge saving per pound. I wish I had as much freezer space as you do!!!

Well, when we lived near an Aldi, I didn't need so much freezer space!

    WTG on the hams! icon_smile.gif
