Hi, all — I've heard that cream of tarter helps make the tops of cookies crack prettily, and I wanted to try adding a bit to a recipe, but I don't know how much. Tje recipe makes only about 24 cookies, and it just uses a box of cake mix as a base. They're quite good as written, but I'd like to try to get that cracked top look. TIA. — Meredith

Of all the recipes in our database for "crinkle cookies" there were only two recipes that use cream of tartar. I would suggest comparing them to your recipe to help decide how much cream of tartar to add to yours.

    Lemon Crinkle Cookies

    German Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
