Zeppole With Anchovy
As I get older holiday traditions are something I have been working on. Christmas eve is a big one. The Italian seven fishes. I am interested in other Italian fish recipes. Maybe this recipe will become a tradition in my family. Something that can be passed on and enjoyed by all. Did grandma have any other recipes for Christmas eve you would like to share. I would love to hear . Thanks and Happy Holidays
Here are a few links to past threads on this topic from the Italian forum.....you may find some suggestions there.

Mario Batali's Feast of the Seven Fishes (includes recipes)
We haven't done the 7 fishes in my family since my grandmother, aunt and dad passed 16 yrs ago. We used to have clams, mussels, baccala (salt cod), alici (anchovies), calamari, tuna and filet of sole (and sometimes eel). Some years we would have other fish/shellfish in addition to those seven.
Below is a list of frequently served fish/shellfish dishes for the "feast"
Baccala
Baked cod
Cod fish balls in tomato sauce
Deep fried cod
Deep fried fish/shrimp
Deep fried scallops
Fried smelts
Insalata di mare (seafood salad)
Linguine with anchovy, clam, lobster, tuna, or crab sauce
Marinated eel
Octopus salad
Oyster shooters
Scungilli salad
Shrimp cocktail
Shrimp salad
Stuffed calamari in tomato sauce
Stuffed-baked lobsters
Stuffed-baked quahogs
Whiting
