Mom's Hot Chocolate Mix

Should I heat the water first, then add the mix, or add the mix then heat the water? It seemed fine heating the water first, but I was just curious how you did it. Thanks.

PS - GREAT recipe by the way. My only problem, was I underestimated the size of my bowl. I don't even own a bowl big enough to mix it. Next time I'll have to use a very large pot.

To ask the contributor, click the arrow to the right of their name, then Contact This Chef. But I think that you would put the mix in the mug or pitcher, then add the hot water.

Hot cocoa mixes are usually mixed into water that's already heated. To directly contact a contributor, use the Contact This Chef link next to their name.

I would always heat the water first. Cocoa powder does not like to dissolve; I would add just a little bit of hot water (or milk!) and stir it into a thick paste before adding the rest of the liquid.
