    Oh Fannie what fun!

LOVE seeing bits of where and how others live and your photos along with narrative almost make me feel like I spent the morning with you.

Cool photo of your DH taking the photo with his cell in the mirror. Those baskets are beautiful, now you said they were sweetgrass and the craft was passed down so are they American Indian? Do you know what the ones with the loos tassel ends were used for? The two tone one in the back is really pretty.

We do not have a bulk spice shop but can image how wonderful it must have smelled, amazed at the size of the salt rocks icon_eek.gif

And do I have to say more than yummy.gif about those chocolate / caramel apples?

Hi Debbwl. Those baskets are African American. The two tones come from weaving long leaf pine needles with the sweet grass. The tasseled ones are wall decoration. I admired some very beautiful, large ones today. I kid you not, when I tell you that some of them cost over $900 US dollars. The one you mentioned would be several hundred dollars. I have a few small ones and several trivets. My photo of Crispy Rice Cheese Snacks features my basket. My triviet is used in several photos.
Mine are not nearly as expensive as the ones I saw today. I would love to have one of those. They are considered heirlooms by South Carolina and Geogia natives.

    now a potted week....

    chicken stir fry

    cottage pie

reusing some of the meat from the cottage pie, added some new potaoes and took it to work. (mobile phone shot)

made a spicy roast chicken and spicy (curry ish) gravy, too some to work with rice (using the legs up and saving the breast)

Then that night had it again - roast chicken with a spicy (curry ish) gravy

the roast chicken being used up for my baitbox with lambs lettuce and celerry to make a light tasty salad

the choice one night was sausages... didn't fancy chips, seemed to long to make mash... so had a rethink and made pizzas

yesterday it was chicken dinner time again...I made a giant yorkshire pudding (mixed sage and thyme in) to serve it in

    as you can see..
