we have a stacking steamer pan for the veggies so it only uses one ring on the oven and stacks neatly while waiting to be washed (also comes in handy for steaming steak puddings)

last nights chicken in curry sauce
(really I should show you the whole series of photos, moving the lighting about to get the right light, but it takes a long time to upload them, and you can probably guess what they look like with too much light in one spot, not enough, big shadows etc)

Steve great photo and wonderful serving suggestion putting fries (yes I know they are chips ) with your curry as I always get locked into the thought that one needs rice with curry.
I have a Silicone steamer just right for the two of us

as I scrolled down I thought that was a bikini top, really did wonder where you were going with your post !
Yeah half rice, half chips.. or just rice, just chips, or a naan, or a stack of chapaties... just do what feels right

That's a lovely steamer, Deb!! Didn't know they made silicone steamers! I also thought it was a piece of underwear -- well, for a split second when I scrolled down!

After eating the roast dinner, icecream, scones and a packet of crips the Grandchildren wanted toast/cheese toast... So I obliged, even had one of them eating cheese and sausage on toast (its like pizza) who doesn't like cheese and doesn't like cheese toast (obviously has never considered pizza to be like a big piece of cheese toast)... but doing this meant we had no bread left.... so after they had gone, I made a loaf and added Parmesan, tomato purée, smoked paprika and red onions....

Oh man that bread sounds like it would make amazing cheese toast.
Had to laugh at how yourbreakfast reminded me of the carton Blondie and Dagwood. With you breakfast sandwich looking like a Dagwood sandwich and your DW’s is nice neat breakfast just like Blondie would have.

thanks
(had to google blondie and dagwood, it appears they are characters in a film in 1938, several remakes and comic strips..)

didn't post yesterdays "re-work" of the day befores.. but as I'm now on day 3 and used the last of it.... here is a repurposing of chicken....
Day 1 - all freshly done.....used the breast meat up, save the legs/thighs, made stock with the rest.
Day 2 - using up the saved chicken legs, saving the scraps, made fresh veg, made gravy from stockpots (like stockcubes) and the water from the veg/potatoes.
Day 3 - using the stock I'd made, using the scraps of chicken and lots of freshly made veg, plus some leftover boiled potatoes from yesterday a very hearty chicken and veg soup

Steve, stop posting all these sinful pictures of food, some of which could be fattening ... (Only kidding!! )
I wish I could hire you for a few days ... I need a break from cooking (only one) decent dinner per day ...
My dear husband does provide well in other aspects, but a cook he ain't.
By the way -- has the price of meats and poultry increased in your parts of the world as well? It's SO expensive now -- especially the better meats such as freerange lamb and chicken.

lol !
everything is getting more expensive to be honest, but the supermarkets do deals on cheaper meat (chickens that aren't free range etc)...

Zurie the best part of the photo forum is enjoying so many yummy dishes without gain weight or busting the bank.
Steve the soup looks soooo yummy I could have skipped day one and two and gone straight to the soup.
