I try to make all my meals interesting/good/nice/fancy/enjoyable... I see meal times and something to enjoy, not just a time to fuel the body.... many years ago I decided I only had so many meals left in my life time (hopefully quite a lot) so thought why waste any of them...

so the other day I was off work, so rather than my usual museli at work, I fancied a cooked breakfast but... no bacon, no eggs, nothing really to make any sort of plated meal.... so had a think... and a root around.... found emergency chorizo... tin of beans... a few tomatoes.. ... I know, breakfast pizza using the beans as the tomato sauce.....
while I've been at work, my good lady has suddenly got a baking head !.. made scones ... doesn't normally bake at all...so this is first attempt..(will sample later and possibly get a photo with it all jammed up..)
and also using up some pork steaks cooked yesterday, more emergency chorizo.... stir fry with curry sauce...

Steve everything looks wonderful but thought my DH was going to lick the screen when he saw your scone with clotted cream and jam.
You could sell pizzas with the pizza photo and the chili has fabulous colors.

thanks you two... yeah been told to open one many times... lol
this mornings playing about with breakfast ideas....
Breakfast Kebabs !
Toasted pitta, creamy scrambled eggs (with cheese and basil) where I might have used a bed of couscous on a normal kebab, then kebabs made with sausage, blackpudding, bacon, tomato and fried bread...

Steve, I have one, nagging, question. You cook like a dream. Wish my husband could!!! BUT, BUT ... who cleans up after you?
I'll tell you WHY I ask this! I am one of those old-fashioned wives who cook a dinner every night, with fresh ingredients. And what bugs me most is the pyramid of pots, lids, pans, forks, etc. etc. which tend to pile up!!
I DO wash up as I go on and I have a clean kitchen when I've done cooking, but night after night this repetition annoys me ... I'd far prefer to be a lady-at-large ... with servants "down" in the kitchen, doing everything and then serving up, and cleaning up ...
BUT the admirable thing that my DH does:- because he prefers to eat later than me, he washes up and cleans up after he has eaten, and takes care of leftovers, feeds the (bl**dy) wild genets @ 1am, and leaves the kitchen spotless!! I come down in the morning to a sparling clean kitchen. Wow, I appreciate that! (Did I ever mention he's a total night owl??)
(During the day we tend to assemble snack foods. But I insist on one good, healthy meal at night).

I'm going to upset you now....
I tend to rinse things off when used, put them in the dishwasher, sometimes wash them by hand because I need them for something else in the process... sometimes take things out of the dishwasher and wash it because I need it....
Then when it comes to making/cooking things... I don't use a lot of things, I don't end up with piles of stuff because I work logically... If I'm going to have salad with something I cut the salad up first so the chopping board and knife isn't contaminated, I then chop the stuff that will be cooked so doesn't matter... etc....

Steve you are man after my own heart.
I clean as I go too mostly out of necessity as I only have one very small counter and a tiny sink with no dish washer making clean up as you go a must. Though about getting a moveable counter but when we measured the kitchen there was just no way to make it fit.

Well, I WAS exaggerating a little!! I am a very methodical cook, Steve -- it's only when I use several small pots for fresh veggies that the pot cleaning gets to me ...
