For a long time I have desired (and previously asked for), that the website designers make a change in the way our cookbooks are listed on the individual recipes.

What I mean is that when I try to save a recipe into one of my almost 200 cookbooks...I almost get dizzy trying to find the one I need. They need to come up alphabetically.

Today I wanted to save a biscotti recipe. I got very frustrated looking for my Biscotti Recipes Cookbook. I actually got to the place where I doubted I had a cookbook by that name. I exited the recipe I wanted to save and went to my list. Yes! I did have that cookbook so back I went again to the recipe to try again.

I was finally able to save the desired recipe to the correct cookbook, but it was a most frustrating experience.

I have been a member of this website for a lot of years now. I have no plans to leave. However, it would be sooo nice to have an enjoyable time saving recipes instead of it giving me a headache.

    Pleeeeeease!

You can do that now, Carroll - click All of My Cookbooks. Along the top (under the Search My Cookbooks bar) it says Sort by: My Order | Alphabetical | Date Published

Click Alphabetical and there you have it.

i'm afraid you misunderstand. I don't mean that list. I mean the list that comes up when you are on a recipe that you want to save.

That list is not in any recognizable order. I don't mind having to ask for Alphabetical every single time I go to the entire list. (It doesn't save the list in alphabetical order and you have to reorder every time.)

I'm probably not saying this correctly. But go to any recipe, then scan down to the place on the right where it says 'cookbook'. If you click on it there the books are scambled up badly.

    Carol,

duonyte was correct, you can do this now -- but the way to accomplish that is slightly different than described in her post.

    Go to your cookbooks page:

    http://www.food.com/mycookbook/

Click on "Reorder My Cookbooks" near the top of the page.

    http://www.food.com/mycookbook/orderbooks.php

That will bring up "Organize My Cookbooks."

    http://www.food.com/mycookbook/orderbooks.php

Select the alphabetical sort, then click "I'm Done Reordering."

It's that alphabetizing that creates the order for the drop down cookbook list when you choose to add a recipe to your cookbook.

Thank you for trying Kathy. But it didn't work. I followed all your instructions then went to a newly posted recipe.

This is the list which came up. Definitely not alphabetized.

    Carol,

I checked your account and the drop down list is alphabetized.

Your browser might be using old cookies. Close and reopen your browser. If that doesn't update the drop down list, clear your cookies. Let me know if doesn't fix it for you.

I don't remember how to clear the cookies. Can you give me some instructions? I use Google Chrome.

I was just going to ask whether you use Chrome. For some reason the Chrome browser will not keep the alphabetical order. This is a known problem. It is limited to the Chrome browser.

Well that's a shame. I love Chrome. I had nothing but problems with most of the others, especially Explorer.

    Thanks gals.
