    snack for kids?

    Hi!

I am teaching a passports and postcards study where the kids are learning about different countries each week, and we are "visiting" the Caribbean next (Jamaica and Barbados.)

I was looking for a snack idea, and decided to pop into the regional forums to ask. I just want to give the kids (ages 5-8 ) a little taste of food from the region. (For Mexico I gave each kid a tbsp of mango salsa with 3 chips and a small cube of cotija cheese.)

Any suggestions? Thanks so much icon_biggrin.gif

    Jamaican Spice Bun Bread
    Bread of Barbados
Jerky Sweet Potato Chips - for little kids I would not use Jerk Seasoning, I'd go with something more along the lines of a cinnamon/sugar blend. Cinnamon is quite popular in the Caribbean.

I ended up making a fruit salad with mango, kiwi, and banana. Most of the kids loved it, although a few were hesitant to try the kiwi.

Thanks for the suggestions - I want to try the bread recipe sometime myself icon_smile.gif
