Whoever said slow cookers were easy was lying. I had 5 slow cookers going and running around like a dog chasing his tail. Biggest problem was hoping everything cooked in time. I started at 6AM and wife wanted everything ready by 3PM. And I got it.
Turkey breast in the cooker.
Stuffing in the cooker.
Sauerkraut and a pork roast in the cooker.
Ham in the cooker.
Roast vegetables in the cooker.
Wife made mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, sweet potato casserole, and a vegetable casserole.
Kittencals recipe for the turkey breast in the slow cooker was perfect. The 7-1/4 lb. breast fit in my 5-1/2 Qt. cooker. Timing was right on.
Stuffing I bumped up to 16 cups which fit in my 6-1/2Qt.
Sauerkraut was 2 large cans mixed with a can of Cream of Mushroom soup with a fried pork roast on top.
Ham was just cooked in water.
The roast vegetables were disappointing. I had potatoes, turnips, parsnips, mushrooms, onions, carrots, yellow carrots, brussel sprouts, and pole beans.
Wife said it reminded here of beef stew without the beef. The sprouts were mushy and the beans were fibrous. Used my 8Qt. for all the vegetables. Took 3 hrs on Hi, then an hour on Low.
Next year, hope to have a sweet potato casserole recipe for the slow cooker.
I hear leftovers calling. Bye.

Sir, You Are An Inspiration!
The vegetables would not get caramelized. I wonder if there is some better way to prepare them in the crockpot, other than just cooked and sauced in some way. Now, I do cook potatoes, sweet potatoes, beets whole in the slow cooker. Wash, wrap in foil and put in the slow cooker for about 3 hours on average. They cook very nicely that way. But it's more like baked.
I downloaded some free slow cooker cookbooks to my Kindle, I'll see if there is a sweet potato casserole in there somewhere.
