Does anyone know how to "de-spicy" something?

I put too much dried pepper flakes into my spaghetti sauce and now it is too "hot" for me. Any suggestions?

Not really.....adding sugar or acid/vinegar doesn't work to cut the heat.

The only thing that really works is to add more tomatoes/sauce or make a second batch of sauce without any seasoning, combine the two to mellow out the first batch, and then freeze the extra sauce.

Have a look at this link. I found it very informative. Seems like for red pepper all you need is oil or butter.
