I need some help with..

finding a diabetic diet for someone that speaks very little English, first language is Spanish. I have some friends that own a Mexican restaurant here and one of their mothers has been diagnosed with diabetes. Her daughter, who is my friend, has asked me if I'd help her mother with her diet restrictions. I do not speak any Spanish and sure can't read it. I did a search, in hopes of finding something bi-lingual but had no luck. I did get a doctor to see her that speaks Spanish, but he can't be with her enough to help her with her diet, too much. She is scared to death she is going to die from it. Any help would be appreciated.

Jacqueline. It is good having you around. Hope the info that Andi gave you can be helpful. I remember when DH was first accepting of his diabetes. It was very scary and unsettling. Hope your friend can find the answers she is looking for. Please don't be a stranger. We would love to see more of you.

How automatic translation works

The contents of a page are only sent to Google if you choose to translate them; otherwise, they are never sent to Google to detect the language. If you choose to translate a page, the text of that page is sent to Google's translation service for translation. Your cookies are not sent along with that request and, if the page you are on is encrypted with SSL, Google Chrome also sends the translation request over SSL. This communication with Google's translation service is covered by the Google privacy policy.

Google's translation service uses machine translation. Keep in mind that machine translation currently isn't as accurate as actual human translation. So Google Chrome's translation feature can probably help you understand the gist of a page and individual words. But it probably can't help you with poetry or pages that contain complex grammar or technical vocabulary.

Sorry I have not been back, but would like to thank Andie for the resources. I have printed and taken to my friend for her to give to her mother. I need to check with her on how she is doing, too.

I also need to do some work on my own self. My A1C went in three months from 4.8 to 6.1 and that did not make me happy but I do know the reason for it, so I need to settle down and get back to eating the way I should.
