    Chestnut flour roasting on an open fire...

    Today I found chestnut flour (from Oregon-grown chestnuts!) I bought
    a small amount-about 1 cup to try it in a recipe. I've never baked with chestnut flour before.

    Suggestions? Any other information I should know?

    PS No hurry to answer. I have enough to do this week.

    I've never tried it myself. These recipes use chestnut flour, although I think the first one really meant to use water chestnut flour,

    I'd be interested to hear how you use it and how it turned out. We have a gluten free thread on this forum, and it looks like the flour is used in GF recipe, so it might be a great alternative for those who have that issue.

    very intriguing...I might give it a whirl!

    I've never heard of this before, but it sure could be used in glutin free, let us know how it turns out.

    I plan to try this: Chestnut Pasta and use her suggestion of a simple butter/sage sauce.
