Nancy's Pantry wrote: Good Morning NWGal,
So glad you had a nice Thanksgiving -- I'll bet your table was absolutely beautiful with the china and crystal. Those make-ahead mashed potatoes sound great!
My DD arrived home last night and remarkably she was up quite early this morning. So I made a new recipe I posted from Cooking Light - Orange Cranberry Bubble bread (yum) along with some scrambled eggs.
Now I have to get the appetizer festivities ready for about 1PM today. We've already seen some of her pictures from Europe and they are beautiful. She had a wonderful time with Loula as they toured Dusseldorf together.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Nancy
Good morning, Nancy's Pantry. That Cranberry Orange Bubble Bread sounds yummy!
I'm so glad your daughter had such a nice trip. I envy her for meeting Lalaloula. She's such a sweetheart, and I'd love to one day meet her myself!
Enjoy your day!
NorthwestGal
She definitely is a sweetheart and she was so kind to meet her there and show her the sites.
That bread recipe is really interesting as it uses canned biscuits that you flatten out and stuff with a cranberry/cream cheese mixture (I left out the orange) and then of course, they are doused with a brown sugar and butter mixture before baking. I don't normally use canned biscuits, but this was really a great idea for a nice brunch/breakfast item around the holidays.
I have so much food planned for today -- I always plan too much! Those redneck crackers that I made for one of my chefs are so addicting and so is the chocolate/pretzel/peanut candy that was also another adopted chef recipe. My white chocolate wouldn't melt so I used dark sweet chocolate and they were absolutely delish.
Everyone is just lying around watching tv and reading except ME! I'm running around the kitchen trying to make sure everything comes together even though I still technically have 3 hours.
Wish you and pammyowl could have some of this stuff!
Nancy

Typical! DH has to do the dishes and peel stuff for me though. Aren't I a slave driver?

Not at all. He's just pitching in, doing the all the things I don't like to do. That sounds reasonable to me!

Yea, I'm not the only one who delegates cleaning duties!
DH and I have a deal -- I cook and mess up the kitchen and he clears it and cleans it up -- especially if it is a holiday and/or party.
I am having back issues today and I can't bend so it is more trouble to cook than normal. Oh well, I'll get over it.
I'm off to make the spinach-artichoke dip and stuffed mushrooms -- I told you I am going over-board. And that's not all, I have two other dips made and a cheese log. You would think I'm entertaining the troops! Oh, and I almost forgot -- I have to make queso and bbq'd sausage for the kids plus turkey and ham for sandwiches.
They may have to come pry me out of my house with the jaws of life when this is over!

It sounds like you're going to need a large group to come help you eat all that food you're whipping up. If I leave right now, I might be able to make it by dinnertime.

I'll have plenty of food for you and I'll even take out my best "chinette" paper plates.
There will be plenty of leftovers to bring to the PAC break room on Sunday!

Good Morning NWGal,
I'll be hanging around this afternoon so feel free to take the afternoon off!
Seriously!
My belated Thanksgiving appetizer feast went very well yesterday and those "Redneck" crackers were a hit! Today, I just plan to hang around and rest up.
Have a great day and enjoy some shopping!

You're too sweet, Nancy! Thank you so much for making that offer. I'll take you up on it, so I can try to make a big dent in my Christmas shopping. I need to take advantage of having the extra muscles available to me (for carrying the heavy items to the car) and the level head (to keep me from making those impulsive tech buys).
These are for you to enjoy during your shift.....

looks like things are winding down here! Sounds like everyone's Thanksgiving was great, ours was terrific too. Had a wonderful meal with the family, Texans won (yay!), and spent Friday at some lovely vineyards in the Hill Country, so all in all a delightful weekend!
Here's a completion for one of my adopted orphans....
