Recipe sifter...again (still)

So, after more than 2 months, we're still waiting for the sifter to be be repaired. How is that possible? l don't think it's unreasonable to expect a solution to this problem in a more timely fashion. And it's not as though lnternet Explorer was some obscure web browser. Internet Explorer (IE) is the most popular browser in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK. (according to Wikipedia) lt comes preloaded on any PC that runs Windows. Chrome and Firefox are the ones that have to be down-loaded after-market. Not everyone has the memory capacity to start adding extra browsers just to use one website.
Forgive me for sounding a bit cranky, but it's been more than 9 weeks. and we're still hearing apologies "for the inconvenience". l suppose, in the big picture, this isn't the most important issue out there, but it would be one annoyance cleared from my list.
Maybe if we could get an update on the progress every once in a while, l wouldn't feel like the sifter problem was being pushed aside. Or at least an occasional announcement that you're still working on it.
Anyway, thanks for allowing me the opportunity to rant. l look forward to having full use of the sifter soon.

Laura, I understand your frustration and we apologize for the inconvenience. The team is aware and working on. As soon as I receive an update, I will let you know.
As you know, the issue is isolated to IE. If you don't have an alternate browser like Chrome or Firefox to use, I will be happy to help you with any searches.

I don't use this site as often as I used to, but I am having problems with the recipe sifter as well.
After finally locating it, nothing happens when I click on it - the last couple of posts make it sound like it is an IE problem, but I run firefox and can't use the sifter either.

I use the sifter on FF all of the time without any problems. There was a recent problem reported that involved FF and adblockplus, which required the reinstallation of AdBlockPlus and something about the filters. I did not have this issue although I also use AdBlockPlus, but see this thread to see if this is your issue http://www.food.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=383484
If this is not the problem, then please describe just what the problem is that you are having, so that Mary could troubleshoot.

Okay, I have sorted out half of my problem.
When I click on top recipes and then down the lower half of the left hand side is a link the the recipe sifter - this one doesn't work. Under the More Recipes column, it says in little writing "need to dig deeper?" The page just moves a little, but no sifter.
If I go the the sifter from the link under top recipes it works fine.

It works for me in both places on FF.
Do you have AdBlock Plus installed? My filters were causing me problems with the search function.

Like Laura said, IE is one of the more popular web browzers so I'm not sure what the delay or problem is either.
As a result, I've been using alternate search methods but I'm finding it frustrating when I can't detail my search from the sifter such as for nuturitional values or specific or unique ingredients.
Either your prorities are in getting the site working again c/o IE to what people are used to or you have other prorities instead. It's obvious you spend alot of time re-vamping the look & characteristics of the site. Normally that would be good but it's a shame you don't first test the common functions first before implementing the changes.
My patience is growning thin and unfortunately find myself waning from this web site as a result. I'm hopefully for the necessary fix but can't say I'll be holding my breath much longer for it.

Perhaps if you read Andrews answers about the sifter at the link below it will help you to understand just how hard the team is working on getting it to function just like our users are wanting it to. We do appreciate your patience while a new sifter is in the works!
Sorry guys, I forgot you would not be able to view that link from here. In any case, please know our team is aware of your feedback and even though we do not have a launch date yet, a new sifter is on it's way!

Mary that link just gives , "The topic or post you requested does not exist or you do not have permission to view it."
Glad to hear a new sifter is on the way, I think. If it's just like the old one it will be great!
