Hi everyone!! I am looking for ideas for travel snacks -- things that can be taken on long road trips without being too messy, beyond the typical cookie... Any ideas??

I always bring cheese and crackers. Cheese will hold up quite well for a day long trip. I also bring grapes broken up into small clusters, slices of non-messy fruit - apples. I also like having some dried fruit. The chewiness means they last a bit longer in the mouth than fresh fruit.Things that are too juicy end up sprayed over clothes, upholstery etc. Peanut butter between two crackers or between bread which I cut into quarters.
Wraps are a good choice, with not too messy fillings. I use regular tortillas and cut them in half. That way the filling stays within and the portion is not too large.
I also throw in a few commercial snack bars/granola bars. If they aren't eaten, they will be good for the trip back, if necessary.
I use the little snack bag plastic bags for some of these - for portion control but also to avoid having to open and reseal larger containers. Worth it to me.
