    Your Doctor should have given you a list of foods and recipes for each stage of your diet.

    I agree that you should have been given a list of foods and menu items that were appropriate for the different stages after your surgery.

    I'm 1-1/2 years after gastric bypass and can eat just about anything, though I stay away from the usual bad items (sweets, "white" flours/pasta, etc) and limit my intake. Not much different from what everyone else should be doing.
