Good morning everyone!
Anyone hosting a cookie exchange or going to one?
I am hosting one for the gals on my street and haven't done it in years.
Any suggestions? Special cookies you have to make every year?
I have a few (cough, cough) recipes I am testing today. Will freeze the results for second opinions otherwise they may not be last

Received my package from my wonderful special partner, Dominique, while I was out of state. My hubby was so excited he opened the box and told me the contents over the phone (I was in California - we live in Missouri) Gonna shoot my husband (ok, I'll just make his next dinner really burnt and yukky) He opened more than one delivered box and did not list what came from which box - and I am in a bunch of swaps!!! I have received a ton of nice things but now need to figure out what is from whom. Working on it and will hopefully know by this weekend - then will grab everthing up and try to post pics. I have to remember to only do one swap at Christmas time next year - or definitely not be gone during the expected arrival times of packages!!! Will post Dominique's package contents very soon. According to my husband, I got nice things - now I just have to find where he put them all!!! Sharon

OK - Here's what my wonderful partner, Dominique, sent me: An adorable snowman door hanger (on the front door already!), a Hallmark Maple Leaf Oh Canada ornament (musical), a beautiful Christmas Dove pin, and a Canadian Living recipe magazine (hubby already picked out 4 recipes for me to make this weekend!!) What a wonderful special swap partner. Big hugs to Dominique!!!! Sharon

I made Lemon Bars by Dibs last year and they were so easy peasy to make.
This one Snowdrift Bars by Gerry is a little more work because of the icing but is wonderful and a little different.
For the kids, Root Beer Float cookies by KitchenCraftsnMore were very different as well.
I did a cookie exchange a few years ago. Found it was a lot of work because I choose to make something special. But was also a lot of fun. We each did 11 dozen cookies. 10 were put onto separate plates or tins the other was put out for people to snack on while we had a few drinks. Most people were like myself and made something special. One person dipped pretzels into melted chocolate and rolled them in sprinkles, which I thought was sort of a cop out but oh well.
Have fun with it and let us know how you make out.

I'll see if I can find you one, I get a major discount at Rexall. They mark those Hallmark ornaments up SO much! Otherwise you'd pay close to $30 with tax. I'll let you know if I find one for you

Received a 2nd package from my partner Cajunhippiegirl; another angel ornament and a Santa that looks like it was made from bottle caps. Hope she received my package...the one time I forget to get a tracking number...

I am sure it got there and she has just been busy with life. Hopefully she checks in soon. Peace of mind is worth that extra couple dollars to get the tracking number

I got my package from my partner last night. Apparently the post man put it in the mailbox for my next door neighbors. They caught me last night when I was getting out of my car & brought it over. I guess they have had it for several days. It's a bunch of young guys who live with their grandmother, so I guess bringing me my mail wasn not a priority
I received an Angel ornament that will acutally work as a tree topper for my little tree in the foyer. A christmas tree that is made of little circles of felt in christmas colors (very unusual), one that is a baking sheet with sparkly christmas goodies on it, a very cute votive holder with a candle in it, a Santa Claus ornament, a snowman bottle cap ornament (I sent her a Santa one made the same way) and a bottle of Bath & Body Works Winter Candy Apple hand lotion. A great package..Thanks Nikki

Wow, what a great package you got all the way from Australia. Is that a tea towel that has the Christmas pudding recipe on it? So glad you and your friends decided to join us

Glad the boys decided to bring your package over. Sounds like a great package. Funny that you both sent bottle cap ornaments. Would love to see a pic of them.
