Thanks for asking Sara. Tuna is doing very well and blending in, nicely. He has a favorite spot in the living room on the back of the sofa by day where His Royal Highness takes a daily short 12 hour nap.

He is very nocturnal but that is ok with me because I am, too. He meows and carries on an awful fuss about 10pm and WILL NOT SHUT UP until I let him out... then he comes back home about 1 or 2am screeching bloody murder for me to open the door to come back in. He is a very vocal kitty and I've even begun to understand what his different meows mean. I think I am becoming a Cat Whisperer.

Farrah has grown to tolerate Tuna but she would rather he not be here. Demon is a good boy and actually plays with the cat. They are good buddies.

My other dogs !Hercules! and Moose are not doing so well. They now live with my ex in the same apt complex so I see them almost every day. They have both become diabetic in the last 2 years and need daily insulin. !Hercules! is grossly overweight at a whopping 9 pounds but he should only weigh 6 pounds max. Moose is really deteriorating quickly and has become lethargic and disoriented. I think he may have had a recent mini stroke. He's not in any pain... just senile. I worry about him. I'm not sure his quality of life is going to be good for much longer. Demon still has seizures 2-3 times a year but the vet doesn't recommend medications since the seizures are mild and infrequent. The meds are pretty toxic and hard on the organs. He still acts like a puppy even at his age.

All of the dogs are 12-15 years old and I think I'm in for a lot of doggie health stresses in the next couple of years.

You ARE a Cat Whisperer..... cats ONLY vocalize to communicate with humans, (except when they hiss and spit... everyone can get that) and they DO use different sounds for what they want/need/demand!

Good to hear about Farrah and Demon and HRH Tuna the 1st.... Really sorry to hear about Hercules and Moose..... Having had senior pets...I know what the stresses are like..... Thanks for the update!

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear that Moose and Hercules aren't doing so well. Good thing you are a night owl, because if you weren't you soon would be with Tuna's nightly prowls. Sure there isn't some Siamese in him?

I don't think he has any Siamese in him. I know Siamese cats are very vocal chatty but he doesn't have any of the markings. I think he just believes he is superior to the rest of us common life forms and we should care what he has to say.

Both Shadow and Stella (neither of whom have any Siamese in them) become VERY vocal when they want something and merely standing around and LOOKING towards the item in question is not enough...or Shadow is asking me something..... my only problem is that I'm not always sure what she's asking me!

He's gonna be neutered and have all kinds of kitty tests to check his overall health.

I'm gonna be in the financial hole about $300 bucks when all is said and done.

Goodbye to the fancy HD flat screen TV that I was gonna buy myself for Christmas.

Yeah... watching a cute kitty try to get out of "the cone of shame" will be endlessly amusing...and keep you busy..... you won't have time to watch tv anyway..... seriously, you are such a good pet parent! Let us know how the little guy does!

Sorry to hear the pups are aging and not doing so well. That's the sad thing about having a pet -- you know there's going to be an end of the line. But someone said -- maybe it was on this site -- that it is so well-worth the time in between that knowing there's an end of the line is not a consideration.

Thanks, guys! Tuna is doing well but he is rather annoyed with that cone on his neck. He is still a part time indoor-outdoor kitty and HE IS NOT pleased with the cone of shame.

He screeches for a couple of hours every evening to go outside and can't understand why I don't just open the damn door and let him out.

I had to go back to the vet for a bigger cone. Apparently, Tuna was a Cirque du Solei contortionist in one of his previous nine lives and can lick anything he wants.

I'll pick up some camera batteries so I can share some pics. He is getting ginormous, quickly. He is gonna be a very BIG boy when he grows up. He's already 12lbs and only about 5 months old the vet guesstimates. She says he's the biggest kitten she has ever seen.

He's only FIVE MONTHS OLD..... And a contortionist! Wow..... he IS a big boy! I was sure he was older because he was so big.... oh boy.....you would need some prayers but since you are such an angel... the pet angels should be helping you out....OK, OK prayers for you and Mr. Tuna on the way. You may very well find that once he gets used to being indoors he may not want to go out as much.
