I have to enter a pie contest at school, and am not a great baker! It will be outside,so no cream or fridge. Need a FOOLPROOF, tried and true pie recipe that's a winner! Help!

This one's been in my mind lately for Thanksgiving. It's delicious and is the only thing I make with persimmons. We make it in a rustic, free-form croustade on a baking sheet rather than a pie in a pie pan. Persimmon and Cranberry Pie
As I noted in my review, I've added some apple to it as well.

5 Cup Pecan Pie I a bit labor intensive but worth the effort.
