Stay safe for everyone in the path of Hurricane Sandy. I live in South Jersey in the impact area. We are prepared and now it is a waiting game. They are predicting crippling power outages so without power there is no Internet. So if the two weeks go by and you haven't heard from me, please extend my time frame to make it. Thank you in advance!

    Thank you, Starrynews!

I'm in Staten Island (inland)/NYC so I'm not worried about flooding. So far so good with power. BUT THE WIND SOUNDS LIKE LOW FLYING AIRCRAFT. That is what has me freaked out. That & the city (Manhattan) is completely shut down - bridges, tunnels, mta, FDR, stock market, schools, airports, EVERYTHING. on a construction site, a crane is falling off a 90 story building. God have mercy.

So far today I have made a double batch of chex mix, 2 loaves of banana bread, double batch of brownies, a cake & a banana pudding. icon_eek.gif remember, i hate baking.

If I lose power, please sign me up for November. I have all my tags set for this month.

    STAY SAFE!!!

    XO Bethie

No, I made them as an experiment and hope to make more for
a bake sale in December. I have to stay away from chocolate but I took a little bite and they are *really* good!

I can't eat chocolate either (migraines), but I do eat white chocolate - I bet those would be wonderful with with white chocolate, too (worth a try!)... but boy, does the contrast with dark chocolate ever look divine!

    PS, Loula - We're ~Updated to here~ !

    Stay Safe Everyone!

I'm working on next month's sign up now - should up up shortly. Just leave a note here if you want me to sign you up and the link to November's Sign Up isn't up yet.

Hurricane Sandy wasn't as bad as predicted in our area, however the Jersey shore has been ravaged. We live on a hill with a normally dry basin behind our property, and there is currently about 6' of water in it by a football field's width and length. Pretty impressive amount of water.
We have been glued to the TV all day watching the storm coverage. We are now experiencing the back end of Sandy and we are in a high wind warning.

I hope Bethie is fairing okay. I saw photos of NYC that were black from power outages. Stay safe Bethie! xoxoxo

Hope everyone in the east is safe a dry after the hurricane.

I did some cooking over the weekend, just getting around to posting this review now – just under the wire! Love granola, another good one...

    Thanks, Acadia and magpie!

Glad to hear you are safe, Acadia. The pictures on the news have been awful to see.

Loula, I'm sorry but I'm going to be a little late on my tag for your Butternut Falafels. They were out of butternut squash at the store! Since it looks like kind of a key ingredient, I figured I'd be better off being a little late and waiting to get the squash than try without it.

Happy Halloween to anyone else celebrating it!
