    Canadian Bread Flour Amounts / U.S. Bread Flour Amounts

    I found a recipe on another site,
    Honey Wheat Bread
    The poster of the recipe lives in Canada and I live in the U.S.,
    and the recipe called for 2 cups of bread flour, How much more
    flour should I add ?

    You don't use any more. Dry measure is the same in the USA and Canada; it's liquid measure that's different. However, Canadian flour may have a higher gluten content.

    Even if you use the smaller US cup I think you'll need to add flour to this recipe. I would hold back most of the water and check the texture of the dough after about 10 minutes of kneading and then add water if you need it.

    Any time you make a loaf in the bread machine you need to check it to see if the flour-liquid ratio is correct. There are a lot of variables involved, including the weather.

    The manual included for my machine even states to check after the first mix, and add flour or liquid accordingly.

    The US cup is only smaller in liquid measurement.

    I realize that. Even if you use the smaller US cup, understanding that the dry cup is the same, you will need more flour to make a proper dough. The ratio of liquid to dry ingredients is a little off. It will be more off using a Canadian liquid measuring cup as you will have even more liquid.
