Welcome to September's Veg*n Swap, friends!!! This is a casual and fun recipe swap for those who like to "veg out".
REMEMBER, we are each picking one veg*n chef and making 2 of his/her recipes - plus one of our VIP's recipe (see below!)
Here's how to play:
You select one veg*n chef from the list of participants below and immediately post your choice in this thread when the game officially opens at 9am Zaar time (EST) on Sunday, September 2nd 2012. Chefs will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis. (For example, Lalaloula may choose Karen Elizabeth who chooses Prose who chooses FrVanilla). We will accept late additions until all participants are adopted!
You choose a minimum of 2 of his/her recipes and report your tags here in this link by listing the chef and the recipe (including the recipe number, please). The recipes must be vegetarian, vegan or raw.
You also choose one recipe of the VIP (Veg*n Important Person) of the month Magpie Diner and report your tag here as well. Note that you cannot tag the VIP Chef since everyone will be making 1 of his/her recipes. Also, the VIP will not choose a chef, he/she will simply recipenap a couple recipes because that's what royalty does. . .whatever they want!
You make the recipes and submit reviews for these recipes by the end of the month (September 30 th). Make sure you post that you made the recipe here in this forum. . .and we LOVE to see any photos that you may have taken of your chosen recipes!
In return you will receive two or three reviews on your recipes from whomever tags you! Unless you are the VIP and then lucky you will receive a TON of reviews that month!!!
Feel free to have fun in this thread. . .friendly banter, vegetarian/vegan/raw discussions, well wishes, recipe tips, and even useless info are encouraged!
Questions? Just ask Katzen or Lalaloula, your swap hosts!
*A fun way to meet fellow members and promote your recipes.
Here is a little banner for your About Me page. Just remove the X and paste it in the top section.

A bit about the VIP:
I first discovered recipezaar when googling for some recipe that I can't even remember now. Before long I was totally addicted and still find it such a helpful resource for all sorts of things. People have really great ideas on this site, good senses of humour and, well, good recipes. My cookbook collection has become unruly, thank goodness for this site or the shelves would literally collapse. It's corny, but I love recipes, love reading them, love collecting them and trying them. I used to say I just collected cookbooks, and wasn't all that choosey about what hit my shelves. I'm much more selective now, it's got to be veg*n or kitsch and interesting. The ones I actually use on a regular basis come from Madhur Jaffrey, Moosewood, Mollie Katzen, Sara Kramer and Isa M. I'm vegan, but those in my world are not. I try not to spend my days as a short order cook at home, but it happens. As long as it didn't come out of a box or can, I'm pretty happy. Due to that, I have one of those kitchens where visitors say there is nothing to eat...not without preparation anyway. (Although I do have some secret stashes
