    Coffee with whip cream

    Thu Aug 30, 2012 6:09 am Groupie
    Hi all,

Having tried adding whip cream to coffee I found it is quite tasty.

I prepare coffee direct from beans using Saeco Semi-automatic machine.

Each time preparing whip cream together with preparing coffee it is wonderful because the whip cream is fresh. But it is NOT convenient. Is it possible whipping the cream for one week consumption and keep in glass jar refrigerated?

Besides are there varieties in preparing whip cream other than only adding sugar

    wave.gif Hi, and Welcome!

The best answer I can give is to use one of the hand blenders (stick blender), to whip the cream fresh. You can do enough for the morning (or pot) and keep in fridge 'til needed. (I do know you can whip it and refrigerate, but it will start to weep and lose it's shape after a day, I believe. )

As far as flavorings, I'm sure you could just let your imagination run wild. How about flavoring the cream with vanilla or almond extract, before whipping? What about a pinch of cocoa powder, with a little confectioner's sugar? Cinnamon? I think the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!

The whipped cream sounds good - I have some cream in the fridge; I may try it myself in the morning and report back!

    Hi Alli

It won't be convenient whipping a small quantity for 2/3 cups of coffee each time. I have to cool the whipping utensils in refrigerator at least half an hour before whipping. I expect preparing a quantity sufficient for 3/4 day use. I also use whipping cream on fruits such as strawberry. kiwi, etc. It is wonderful. Gelatin and power/confectioners' sugar can be used as stabilizer.

I found some varieties for whipping cream on Internet before but only limiting to strawberry/lemon/vanilla/spirit etc. using following ingredients

    raspberry puree/extract
    strawberry puree/extract
    lemon curd/extract
    vanilla extract

I think maybe whisky whipping cream will be suitable for coffee. I wonder to know whether there are other varieties beyond those?

Yum! I agree! The whipped cream will not remain stable for long. However there are several recipes here on for whipped cream which state they can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week!
