I want to make oatmeal raisin cookies but have no all purpose flour; Would you know if bread flour would work. I read it has more gluten, and maybe I should reduce the amount in the recipe. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

It will make your cookies tough. If you really do not want to make that grocery run, I'd use cake flour with a little bread flour added to strengthen it, but not bread flour by itself.

I decided not to make them; I went to buy some flour today and will make my cookies soon.

Honestly, that was the best decision. You really don't want to waste the rest of the ingredients if the flour does not work out.
