Barbequed lamb souvlaki skewers
I would love to get the courage one day to try to make them, but I live with people who are very picky about garlic and only like it if it is used in a very tasty recipe, so I need to find a very good recipe before I try it.
My family used to marinate the cubes of lamb in garlic, oregano, lemon and maybe olive oil, salt and pepper? I have no idea about the quantities they used of each ingredient per kilogram of meat, and I don't know which cuts of lamb would work well.
So if anyone has any advice or knows a link to a good recipe, please let me know.
This is an interesting topic, hope some more replies come up!
Lamb skewers sounds soooooo gooooooood!!
I just use cubed lamb leg or shoulder when making skewers.
Try the following combination for 1kg of lamb:
Juice of 2 lemons, (save the rind)
4 cloves garlic
1tbs salt.
1 tsp pepper
2 tbs chopped fresh mint.
1 tsp dry oregano.
mix well, add lamb, coat well. let marinate over night.
Grill!
