Backpacking/Hunting Meals

Newbie "Fry Cook" Poster

My boyfriend does ALOT of backpacking/hunting and is often out in the middle of nowhere. He needs alot of lightweight, high calorie/fat meals for his adventuring. I'm looking for some good ideas on dried meals and easy snacks I can make myself. Any suggestions or recipes would be greatly appreciated!

I picked up on Amazon "Backpack Gourmet" by Linda Frederick Yaffe - it seems to have a lot of good ideas for one-pot meals, snacks, main dishes, side dishes and practical ideas. I've tried none of them. Some require a dehydrator to make.
