Email Recipe CAPTCHA issues

Catcha was added when emailing a recipe for security reasons. We got wind that another site that has an email a link tool got a spammer who signed up for the site and then abused the heck out of it. Spamming folks left and right through the website and then your emails get blacklisted and it's just a nightmare. It's just a precautionary measure. I know it's annoying, but we're trying to cut off any possible abusers after hearing about it happen elsewhere.

However, we are aware the Captcha can be a little hard to read and have requested the feature be more legible. In the interim, there is an option there for you to get a new word. To the right of the box where you type the words are three little icons. The top one is of two arrows making a circle. Click it to Get a New Challenge aka new words. The second is a picture of a megaphone to Get an Audio Challenge. And the circle with the question mark is for Help.





We also know it's hard to tell when the email has been sent because the page just refreshes, kind of implying you need to submit again. But, underneath the captcha in bold it will advise when it has been sent. It will say, Your message was successfully sent. You may go back to the page you were on or you may send e-mail to another friend(s). This has also been reported to be more apparent. If you get this message and your friend is still not receiving, have them check their SPAM/JUNK folder.

CAPTCHA is the WORST service I have ever seen to avoid SPAM. I am on my 26th attempt to send the email and I have much more patience than anyone I know. You will lose visitors to this site if you continue with this HORRIBLE service. We want to cook, not spend ours trying to share recipies over email.

I also cannot get the letters shown correct. I have tried over 20 and also pressed the button to get other choices that I could try. Half of the letters are so messed up that you cannot read them. Even when I think I have the correct letters it doesn't send the e-mail.

After I keep getting the message that my letters were incorrect my daughter told me that she received the recipe over 14 times. Something is very wrong with your system.

You probably missed the message that your message was successfully sent - it's circled right above - Mary has explained that we have asked this to be made more prominent - it is a bit hard to see especially as the captcha refreshes each time, even when the message is sent.

All I wanted to do was forward a recipe to my daughter who is a pastry chef...and I'm on my 6th attempt?? If you are going to have a "captcha," why not make it eligible??

terrible, i can clearly see the words i put them in still tells me I am wrong. Its as shame because I really like this site and want email my friends and family recipes we have tried and I am unable.

CAPTCHA isn't working I tried 6 times to send and am 100% positive that I got the words correct.

calicostar, I just tried to send an e-mail and was able to get it to go through on the first try. We suggest deleting your cookies and cache, shut your computer down and try again. If you still cannot get this recipe to go through, you can inbox me the e-mail address and recipe you would like to send and I will be happy to send it off for you! We are sorry you are having trouble!

Please verify if you are getting this? If not, an alternate solution would be to copy and paste the URL into an email. Or if you provide the recipe you are interested in, I will be happy to email to you.

The reCAPTCHA is not showing up on the page. Hard to enter it when you can't see it :/

What browser are you using? I just emailed a recipe using FF and when the page refreshed it had a new Captcha (although the recipe did get sent successfully).
